nekromant_alex, try this version – I removed the image that appears next to the description; perhaps there was something wrong with it. I tested it on the Russian license of Tribes of the East and on some shady Complete Pack – everything was the same.
Thank you, this helped – the game no longer crashes during the map selection stage. I launched it and started playing – everything seems to be fine so far. If it's not too much trouble, please add this version and a comment about the error to the map description – it seems that I'm not the only one who encountered this problem. Perhaps it's related to the graphics settings – try playing around with them and running the map with different settings (although this is just my guess).
That's right, the game crashes for me too if I set the graphics settings lower than "High." Damn Nival. I converted the image to *.dds using some random utility; I'll try doing it in Photoshop later and test it.
And I'm warning you in advance that there are some visual effects on the map, and I honestly don't know how they will look with lower graphics settings. upd: I've been messing around with it, and it seems like all the critical things are displayed correctly regardless of the graphics settings.
Thanks for the tip! Please report any bugs (even down to incorrect punctuation) – I'd like to polish the map until it shines.

It can be converted normally using Paint.NET.
The map itself looks very interesting, but I'll play it later because there's a problem with saves. For them to work normally, I have to create a new profile, but then, when I switch from the new profile to the old one to play online, saves in the new profile also stop working.
Could you please provide more details here: I've been having problems with TalkBox for a while now:rolleyes: (the version from Buku). I checked my data.pak: there isn't even a TalkBox folder in UI/CommonBoxes... It's not clear from zzima's message - should I modify the data.pak file in the game, or should I ask all mapmakers who use TalkBox to do what's written there???
If not, it can be created ;) Interesting problem with the image... If I have time, I think I'll play and check it out ;)
I knew that everything had to be done according to the manual (thanks for reminding me about paint.net, it turns out that not all .dds formats are equally useful). I uploaded the next version; the image is back in its place, and it shouldn't crash out of the main menu anymore.
I started playing your map.
So far, everything is going well. I have a suggestion to replace top-bottom-left-right with north-south-west-east when positioning units on the map.
After the fix, the map launched, but – I suspect – it won’t be playable. The main character clicks on buildings, the buildings get a name, but it’s unclear what to do next. I suspect that my version from “Buki” absolutely doesn’t accept TalkBox… – apparently, messages should appear when clicking? Even the stable doesn’t respond.
The mayor of the elven city is quite generous; I bought the dragons for 10K, and he let me keep them, even giving me an additional 40K on top, and three dragons are a very good reward in themselves. Maybe the choice to take the dragons or the money is intentional? So far, everything is working as it should, the map is a solid five out of five. I have a question – how does the resurrection potion work?
vadim_t, do you have patch 3.1 installed? Otherwise, I don't know.
I bought the dragons for 10K, and he left them for me, and even added 40K on top.
If they had also killed the princess, without spending on the peaceful option, they would have received twice as much. And mayors are supposed to be generous.
How does the resurrection potion work?
You need to use it after a battle in which someone was killed, and before the next battle (there is no time limit).
vadim_t, is patch 3.1 installed? Otherwise, I don't know.
Patch 3.1 was included in the game right from the start:rolleyes: There are no problems visible on the console. A similar situation occurred with the Master maps from this thread. You might as well download a pirated version for your and other maps with TalkBox:smile04:
Patch 3.1 was included in the game right after purchase.
That's a strange version, considering the patch was released a year after the last expansion. I can only recommend looking for a different version and applying the patch manually. At the start, there should be a tutorial dialogue; you don't even need to go around the houses. By the way, the patch isn't limited to just TalkBox; they actually added so many features that I don't understand how you can do anything without it – floor/ceil/round, the expanded SetObjectPosition and AddHeroCreatures, new triggers, GiveHeroBattleBonus – I actively use all of these.
You can report any mistakes (even down to incorrect comma placement) - I would like to polish the map to perfection.
Let me state upfront - I am also human and can make mistakes, so everything I wrote below is not 100% accurate. If you find any errors, please correct them. I also think it is important to mention that this is not nitpicking, but rather assistance to the author in polishing the map, which he himself requested. Here are the errors I found: Quest "Become a Hero": - "this will greatly worsen his chances" - you cannot worsen chances, you can only reduce them. You can worsen a situation or position. Quest "Imperial Post": - "halfway between Archil and Windead" - "halfway" should be written as one word. Guide - Friendly Warning: - "someone from among acquaintances, with a mysterious smile, said nothing and made him play" - "said nothing" should be separated by commas: "with a mysterious smile, saying nothing, made him play" - "including the good old alchemy" - I'm not sure, but I think "good old" should be written without a hyphen. Guide - Important Features: - "special abilities that the hero can use and (ta-da!) chemistry" - you seem to have alchemy, not chemistry. Guide - Role-Playing Gameplay: - "You need to be more careful with heroes - you never know what they have in mind" - it would be better to say "You need to be more careful with heroes - you never know what they have in mind" - "There is nothing wrong with" - here, I think it would be better to say "There is nothing wrong in doing" - "which means accidentally selling an important quest artifact to a store, or carelessly killing a character necessary for completing the plot" - here, on the contrary, a comma is not needed: "artifact to a store or carelessly killing" - "Of course, this does not negate" - "Of course, this does not negate" Stable Description: - "A place where you can" - "a place where you can". Also, the standard descriptions of buildings in the game end with a period, yours do not. This is not critical, and the amount of work to correct them is quite large, but it is noticeable. Dialogue with Mayor Retgar, branch of questions about the first hero: - "Galant, of course, was initially indignant" - "Galant, of course, was initially indignant" Dialogue with Mayor Retgar, branch of questions about the second hero: - "with the question of whether I have any work" - "with the question, whether I have any work" Dialogue with Mayor Retgar, branch of questions about the third hero: - "but after talking with him, I understood" - "but, after talking with him, I understood" - "in short, not often" - "in short, not often" - "He asked for a long time about the tears of Ashi, and was interested in whether there were any in Archil" - "He asked for a long time about the tears of Ashi and was interested in whether there were any in Archil"
