King's Bounty

King's Bounty (1990) is the game Heroes of Might and Magic grew directly out of — the original blend of hero-led exploration, army-gathering and turn-based combat.

Its name lived on decades later in a run of acclaimed modern remakes and successors, which trade the strategic map for a single roaming hero on a grand adventure. Together they trace one of strategy gaming's most important bloodlines.
