Terms & Conditions
The short version
🤝 Be decent
Respect other members, keep discussions civil, and don't post illegal content. That covers the vast majority of the rules.
🎮 A fan project, made with love
HeroesWorld is an unofficial, non-profit community site with no affiliation to the games' publishers. It's provided free, as-is.
✍️ You own what you post
Your forum posts, uploads and everything you create stay yours. The collaborative wiki is openly shared under CC BY-SA 4.0; game facts and publisher lore in the Knowledge Base stay with their owners.
⚖️ Fair, transparent moderation
If we remove something or act on your account, we tell you why — and you can appeal the decision within six months.
🚪 Leave anytime
You can delete your account whenever you like. Your public posts are anonymized to a “Former Member”, never held hostage.

By joining and posting here, you agree to these terms. They exist to keep HeroesWorld a friendly, safe, and lasting place for fans.
Effective 2026-08-09. Last updated 2026-08-09.
A fan project, not an official one. HeroesWorld is an unofficial, non-commercial fan community. It is not endorsed by or affiliated with Ubisoft, 1C / Fulqrum, Hooded Horse, or Unfrozen. "Might and Magic", "Heroes of Might and Magic", "King's Bounty", and "Olden Era" are trademarks of their respective owners; we use these names only to identify the games our community is about, with no affiliation implied. All game logos, characters, and assets belong to their owners.
Who runs the site
HeroesWorld is run by the HeroesWorld Administration team. Reach us in English or Russian at privacy@heroesworld.net for data questions, or report@heroesworld.net to report illegal content or send a copyright/trademark notice.
The basic rules
- Follow the law — your country's and international. Do not use the site for anything illegal.
- You are responsible for what you post. The Administration is not liable for users' content.
- Do not attack the site — no hacking, exploiting, or disrupting it. Doing so means a permanent ban.
- Automated rate limits protect the site; normal use never triggers them. Deliberately working around them (IP rotation, credential abuse) is treated as an attack on the site.
Content and rights
- No piracy. Do not share cracks or standalone games. Mods must require a legitimate copy of the game to work.
- You own what you post. You keep full ownership of your forum posts, comments, signatures, and uploads (maps, mods, art). You grant us only the limited licence we need to host, display, translate, and adapt them to run and promote the community site — format conversion, thumbnails, accessibility, machine translation — and nothing more. This licence lasts after account deletion only enough to keep already-public content available, and is solely for the non-commercial running of the community.
- The community wiki is openly licensed. Articles you write or edit in the community wiki are licensed under Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0 — so others (including commercial parties) may reuse them with credit under the same licence, the way collaborative wikis like Wikipedia work. You keep your copyright; you are simply granting an open public licence on top. This covers your own writing only — not your forum posts or uploads, not our AI backgrounds, and not the Knowledge Base data a wiki page may reference or embed (see the next point).
- Game data & the Knowledge Base. Our Knowledge Base gathers factual game information — stats, costs, and how objects relate — which wiki pages can reference and embed. Facts like these are not owned by anyone, so we compile them freely for reference. The names, descriptions, lore, and images shown with them belong to the games’ publishers; we show them only for informational, non-commercial fan reference and claim no ownership. So Knowledge Base content is not offered under the Creative Commons licence above — including where it is embedded in a wiki page — and we cannot license material that is not ours. Rights holders can request a correction or removal at report@heroesworld.net.
- AI backgrounds. Some background art is AI-generated from text prompts only — no copyrighted artwork is used as input. Rights holders can request removal (see below).
- Automatic translation. We automatically machine-translate public content (posts, news, wiki) so members across languages can read each other; private messages are not auto-translated. These translations are a convenience, may be inaccurate or miss nuance, and are labelled as machine-generated — the original-language version is the one that counts. You are in control: you can turn auto-translation off for your content and provide your own translation, which takes precedence.
What is not allowed
The following is removed on sight and the account suspended for review: child sexual abuse material (reported to the authorities), terrorist content, pornography, hate speech, incitement to violence, doxxing, malware or phishing, impersonation, and cheats or bots that break a game's terms.
Being decent to each other
- No insults, harassment, or personal attacks.
- Please keep current political and religious conflicts out of general game threads, so the community stays welcoming. Dedicated off-topic areas may have their own rules.
Your account's lifecycle
You can delete your account at any time. Inactive accounts are removed after 10 years (with warning emails first), and public posts are reassigned to "Former Member" so discussions stay readable. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
Reporting illegal content and takedowns
Anyone — member or not — can report illegal content by emailing report@heroesworld.net with the link, why you believe it is illegal, and your contact details. We confirm we have received it and act on well-founded reports, usually within 30 days (urgent cases immediately). Rights holders can use the same address to request removal of infringing material. If we remove or restrict your content, we tell you why and you can ask us to take another look.
No warranty, limited liability
The site is provided free, "as is", with no warranties. Because it is free, our liability is limited — as far as the law allows — to damage caused by gross negligence or intentional misconduct. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including your mandatory consumer rights.
Your account's security
Keep your password to yourself and do not share your account. You are responsible for what happens under it — tell us at privacy@heroesworld.net if you notice unauthorised use.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will announce important changes at least 14 days ahead, with a banner and an in-app notification. If you do not agree to the new version, you can close your account before it takes effect. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
Content moderation
We may restrict content that breaks our rules. Content is reviewed in three ways: reports from users, an automated pre-screen that only flags content for a person to review (it never removes anything on its own), and review by our moderators. Depending on the case we may redact part of a post, hide or remove content, issue strikes, or suspend accounts.
When we restrict your content we provide a statement of reasons explaining what was restricted and why. You may appeal any moderation decision for six months from the date of the decision; appeals are reviewed by our team and may reverse the decision. All moderation actions are logged and visible to our entire moderation team.
Languages
The English and Russian versions of these Terms are authoritative. Other languages are machine-translated for your convenience and may contain inaccuracies; in case of any conflict, the English or Russian text prevails.
