A bold reimagining of the formula.
Heroes of Might and Magic IV boldly rewrote the rules: heroes step down from the sidelines to fight directly on the battlefield, where they can be wounded, captured or even killed. Several heroes can now travel together in a single army, spellcasting was overhauled, and a set of interwoven campaigns follows a world rebuilding after a cataclysm.
Divisive at launch, it has aged into a fascinating road the series never took again.
