Olden Era

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is the newest entry in the saga, now in early access. If you know the classics, much will feel familiar: you explore an adventure map, build up towns, gather resources and lead heroes into turn-based battles with armies of mythical creatures.

What sets it apart is a return to the original Enroth universe — a prequel set on the continent of Jadame, long before the very first game — rather than the Ashan world of Heroes V–VII. It fields six factions, among them the insectoid Hive and the Schism, who fuse high magic with ancient technology, as rival powers forge uneasy alliances against a swarm led by the Dragonfly King.

Alongside the familiar loop it brings genuinely new ideas: a non-linear campaign, an arena mode, multiplayer for up to eight players and a built-in random-map generator.
