I completed the map (V.1.0.1) using a hero. The map opens, and immediately a majestic city appears, shrouded in a delightful fog. A true "sleepy valley": "Quiet valleys / Are filled with fresh mist; / The road is not dusty, / The leaves do not tremble..." Soon, this world will begin to plunge into a dizzying struggle. While the dwarves argue about who should get the "riding mammoth" (+!!), the iron fist of the empire begins to squeeze the plump dwarven neck. A brief chronicle of Grimheim's fall. Natalia was the first to set out on the campaign. (Since there are discrepancies in the number of AI troops, I will provide my own calculations).
Skeld was captured – 7 days, 4 nights, 1 month. Ingvar was stationed there – not upgraded, artifacts were scattered in front of the poorly built castle and without any guards. Karli attacked (7 dr., not upgraded, 15 warlords) during the turn in the field. Rolf (12 warlords, 7 arch druids, 15 archers) – 1 day, 1 night, 2 months. Freivar was captured – 3 days, 1 night, 2 months. Hangvul attacked on the 3rd and 4th day – 1 night, 2 months, in the castle. Helmar (8 arch druids, 22 warlords) – 5 days, 1 night, in the field. Brandt (22 arch druids, 14 archers, 23 warlords, 38 pikemen) – 1-2 days, 2 nights, 2 months, in the castle. This was the most difficult battle – Natalia had only 3 pikemen left after it. For the dwarves, the battle marked the beginning of the end. Sveya (8 arch druids, 23 warlords) – 2-3 days, 2 nights, 2 months. Mariella set out on the campaign with a very solid army. She attacked the necropolis near the monastery and went to the dwarves. Asgerd was captured, guarded by Wulfsten (16 arch druids, 16 warlords) – 7 days, 3 nights, 2 months. After that, the dwarven cities fell like overripe pears. She took the last one, Torgerd – 3 days, 2 nights, 3 months. Ongeir, guarded by Tolgar (39 arch druids, 55 warlords) – 1 day, 2 nights, 3 months, was defeated by Natalia. Total: 65 days, Natalia – level 29, Mariella – level 28 (just a little short of 29).
There were no partisans, and no one reported the start of a partisan movement on the map.
The landscape is magnificent – even if there were nothing else, this alone is a reason to load the map. The animations are delightful and humorous – they could easily exist outside the map. But all this luxury takes a back seat, fading under the pressure of the events that unfold. The dynamics of the map are captivating, and it is impossible to tear oneself away from the events taking place on it. To say that I "liked" the map would be a gross understatement. The map is incredibly good. Everything can be left as it is, but I will still criticize some points:
The quest for the "Lion Set" is useless in its current form. The necromancer is strong enough – it takes time to defeat him. If you focus on him, the dwarves will become much stronger; if you deal with the dwarves, there will be a lot of artifacts, and it will be of little use to put on the set. My sister only entered the monastery because of the opportunity to get reinforcements.
It would be good to add "slow" to Mariella's spellbook, and "ice storm" can be removed. My choice in favor of advancing Natalia was determined by this difference in the spellbook. With equal starting conditions, Mariella is much more promising. Well, and the last animation..., it has already been written about.
A few more thoughts following the already written comments.
It is good that there is no reward for defeating the clans. The checkmark in the quest is somewhat out of place; I am not defeating the dwarves "for the checkmark." Perhaps it would be better not to include "destroying the clans" separately in the quest menu?
I completely disagree with the idea of destroying the cities of the "greens" after capturing them. These cities provide the main army.
It is not necessary to hire dwarven heroes; there are enough human heroes. I only had one additional one.
The possibility of digging for the Grail is too generous for experienced players, and while novices are fiddling with the search, they will miss the opportunity – the dwarves will overwhelm them with their numbers. I do not support this.
Adding mines and a fort behind the first outpost – "You will not live on good land, and you will not have abundant rains, and you will have to fight for your life." (B 27:40)
There are an insane number of artifacts in the game; there should be fewer shops. I agree that there are many artifacts. I had a couple of incomplete dragon sets and 2 bags of artifacts. But there should not be fewer shops – let the dwarves spend money on developing their sisters. Since the dwarves do not run away, all the artifacts "settle" with the hero, who can exchange them for resources in the city and, more importantly, for experience – fortunately, there is an altar.
The AI takes an incredibly long time to make its moves. In my case, the computer only lagged for a couple of turns at the beginning; after that, the map runs like clockwork.
I will be waiting for the new map – "3 Sisters" /and Uncle Vanya on a lizard./
Thank you very much for the map!
