If you weren't born beautiful/smart/talented/insert your own, and didn't end up in the right place at the right time, no matter how hard you try, you'll only ever be middle class. The only question is whether the effort is worth it.

Now I want to become a web programmer.

I had a good experience with my courses. They have a paid subscription for coding/programming tasks, plus a web development course for around $200. I honestly completed a website based on a template, and everything went well. Then, my enthusiasm faded, and I put the subscription on hold, paying a couple of dollars a month. I think I'll return someday; the amount is negligible for keeping it on hold.

It reminds me of my attempts in 2022 to learn front-end development. I tried and tried, but then I gave up and now I write news for a corporate newspaper for peanuts.

I once enrolled in some courses based on a recommendation from a "successful" acquaintance (if it weren't for that, I would never have agreed to a paid course, let alone paying for everything upfront). I spent about $2000 on them – for several months, they gave us retarded tasks about basic computer/Photoshop skills, plus DRAWING WITH PENCIL AND PAINTS ON PAPER (what the f***). Then there were vacations, or some other nonsense – in the end, nothing came of it. I managed to get about 10% of the total amount back, but to get more, I would have had to spend a lot more money on lawsuits.

I love my job. I can work my ass off, not only for myself but also for someone else. But any shift eventually ends.

It's better than working your ass off for pennies in IT.

They want someone experienced right away, and for next to nothing.

You could also take my husband as an example – he went to university for free to study to be a physics and computer science teacher (by the way, computer science is also taught in technical schools). He got his first job as an IT specialist with minimal knowledge, based on the principle of "well, you know your way around computers and programs, so you'll figure it out."

Or you could take one of my artist friends as an example, who studied graphic design at a technical school (or something like that, I don't remember exactly), then worked for a pittance for a couple of years at an animation studio in Voronezh, while also drawing commissioned art on a tablet (often porn or furry porn). He built up a portfolio, moved first to St. Petersburg, then abroad. Now he works for 300k+ (although, probably even more, since we haven't talked in a long time) as a designer in a foreign game company. I don't know what he's doing now, but I definitely remember that he drew character models, objects, and furniture for Pathfinder and its expansions. But that's not IT, and it's probably the only success story among my acquaintances.
