Participant Requirements:

1. Players who registered on heroesworld after 31.05.2014 are invited to participate in the tournament.
2. A tournament participant must have played several official games in a seasonal tournament or another official tournament on HeroesWorld, or at least 5 games for which there are detailed reports in the fan games thread on heroesworld (games can be played and reports written after registration).
3. Players who have taken prize-winning places or participated in 2 or more tournaments from the Новичок series are not allowed to participate.
4. Questions regarding the admission of relatively experienced players or those with an earlier registration date on heroesworld will be considered by the organizers in coordination with the AC.
5. The participant must be able to play 1 game per week - priority time for games is considered 19-24 MSK on weekdays and 12-24 MSK on weekends.
6. If it is discovered during the tournament that a player provided false information, they will be disqualified from the tournament, and the materials will be forwarded to the AC.

You need to do the following:
1. Check if an ICQ number is entered in your profile; add it there if it is missing.
If it is in your profile, a small green daisy - the ICQ symbol - is visible under the avatar. If not, you must follow the algorithm.
2. Leave an application in this thread. To do this, click the Sign up for tournament button located at the beginning of this thread and at the top of each page.
3. 2-3 days before the draw, you must contact the lead skd (IСQ 593626431) and confirm participation. Players who disappear from the forum (lack of user activity for a week) will not be admitted to the draw.

Organizational Issues:

1. Leads - Iamsamstan (IСQ 435-191-039), skd (ICQ 593-626-431), Judges - Redwhait HP (ICQ 658339987); in the absolute same extreme case, contact Dirty_Player (ICQ 408722873).
2. The tournament is held according to the Rules for organization, conduct and participation in HOMM3 online tournaments.
3. The Regulations and Rules of the tournament will not change during the course of the tournament.
4. For each game played, participants must submit a detailed report and a detailed confirmation in this thread. Only in this case is the game counted. All tournament reports must be written using the automatic report writing system: Detailed instruction with pictures FAQ18.
- To create a report, click the New report button located at the top of each page of the thread and fill in all necessary fields according to the template. After that, write your detailed comments on the game.
- To confirm a report, the second player must find the game report, click the Confirm report button, and also write a detailed report.
- It is considered good tone to thank the opponent for the game.
5. All tournament games go into the HoMM3 HW Player Rating.
6. Technical results are assigned for games not played within the established timeframe.
7. Saves and password files for all games must be kept until the end of the tournament and presented upon first request by the tournament leads, judges, or any member of the AC. Forgetting or losing a game password may serve as grounds for assigning a technical defeat in the game.
8. Disputed points, if any arise, are requested to be discussed off-forum. To resolve them, you must contact the tournament lead or judge via ICQ and provide daily saves, ICQ logs, and other necessary information.
The same judicial decision is made primarily based on the tournament rules. If the situation that arose is not regulated by the rules, the judges are guided by basic logic and gaming ethics.

Regulations

Tournament Format.

The tournament is conducted according to the following scheme: Qualification. Group Stage. Play-offs – Double Elimination.
In the Qualification round, participants are distributed into pairs and play for entry into the group stage. The match is best of 1. The winner of the match proceeds to the group stage; the loser goes to reserve, i.e., as a substitute (during the group stage, a substitute player will have the opportunity to take the place of a withdrawn or disqualified player).
Group stage – groups of 6 people each. Players who take the first 4 places advance from the group to the Play-off round.
The main criterion for advancing from the group is the number of points earned (3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss). If several players earn the same number of points, additional indicators come into play (in order of priority):
a) Berger Coefficient;
b) Head-to-head encounter;
c) Total number of game turns in games where the player won (priority is given to the player who spent fewer turns to win. Point “c” applies only if players have the same number of wins in the group).
d) If priority cannot be given by additional indicators a, b, c, a tie-break game on the Panic template is held between the players.

Play-offs – upper and lower brackets. A player who loses in the upper bracket moves to the lower bracket; a player who loses in the lower bracket is eliminated from the tournament. Play-off games are best of 1. The final of the upper and lower brackets is best of 2. The Grand Final is best of 3 without an advantage for the player advancing to the final via the upper bracket, on one map. The player who reaches the Grand Final via the upper bracket will be given the opportunity to strike out 2 game templates that will not be used in the final games.

Registration August 2 – August 15
Draw and group formation – August 16
Tournament start: August 16
Qualification: August 16 - August 22
Group stage August 16 – September 30
Start of Play-off Round – October 10

Tournament games must be played within the established timeframe. For violation of game deadlines, by decision of the tournament organizers and judges, a player may be penalized up to disqualification from the tournament.

Rules.

1. Game version. The tournament is held on game version SoD 3.2(4.0) + HD mod + by mutual agreement of players HW_rulez (for correct operation, the patch must be installed for both players). By mutual agreement, games may be conducted on HotA version 1.3.8 (according to a vote held among participants).
When using the HW rulez mod, the default setting options are: 01110.
That is, obelisk ban – disabled; fort on hill, cartographer, keymaster tents ban – enabled; permanently built level 2 in city – disabled. Players may agree on other setting conditions.
2. The tournament is conducted according to the rules of online games in Heroes 3.
When playing on the HotA version, HotA tournament rules are used.
3. Total restarts: 3 days (111+111+111 or 111+112 or 113).
4. The choice of color for the first generation is given to the first player in the pair. After each subjective restart, players switch colors.
5. The selection of the starting city is done by striking out. Players alternately strike out 3 cities, after which the starting city is chosen. The player listed second in the pair starts striking out cities and chooses the starting city first.

Templates.

1. Qualification and group stage games are played on templates: Skirmish M-200%, Balance L-U, 2sm4d(3), Diamond, Jebus Cross. (According to a vote held)
2. In the Play-offs, one of the group templates will be removed by participant vote, and Panic, Mini-Nostalgia, 8mm6a will be added to the remaining four templates.
3. The template for the qualification game is chosen by striking out from the 5 group templates. In the group round, players are to play one game on each of the templates. In the play-off round, the template for the game will be chosen by striking out from a list of templates. Grand Final participants will alternately choose the game template. The order of selection will be determined by the player who advanced to the Grand Final via the upper bracket.
4. Information about templates and recommended settings can be found in the corresponding section.
5. When choosing a template by striking out, the second player in the pair starts.
6. Games are conducted on a chess timer. For more comfortable gameplay, chess timer setting options have been increased.
