Okay, I think I should cancel the application after all.
Okay, I think I should cancel the application after all.
New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?
By the way, I think it's too early to put maps from 2020 up for voting; let's wait until the end of the year.
Organizing a contest is a good thing and long overdue. However, let's reduce the amount of bureaucracy with these applications. Right now, there's an endless festival of paperwork everywhere: "Get a certificate to obtain permission based on which lists will be created, which are supposedly used as the basis for forming the application..." Let's keep it simple. The maps have already been created and published; they just need to be compiled into a table for voting. A preliminary list can be created either by the administrator or the organizer. After publishing the list of candidates, give visitors time to make corrections in case some map was missed, and then proceed with the vote. This procedure has already been used in previous contests and worked well.
Nomination: "Best Single-Player Scenario 2019-2020"
Title: Blue Crystal
Map Description: When the red crystal regained its owner and, at the same time, an obedient slave, the other magical crystals gradually began to awaken. Blinded by the desire to acquire them all for himself, the hero set out in search of the blue crystal (or, as it was once called by the ancients, the crystal of elements).
Comment: A cool, hardcore map in the best traditions of Master. As usual, a well-balanced game "on the verge of foul play" and excellent final battles that require you to think carefully.
Nomination: "Best Single-Player Scenario 2019-2020"
Title: The Necromancer's Path
Map Description: The Duchy of Bull has undergone many changes over the past two centuries. Here, a tribe of orcs found refuge, now living side by side with the Imperials. The region is ruled by pyromancer officials blessed by the emperor. This delicious, thriving piece of great civilization opens up the path for Erish's necromancers into the Holy Unicorn Empire. Arantir came here not just like that. By the will of Ash, on the highest mountain of the Duchy, there is a Shrine of Dragon Scrolls.
Comment: A quality scenario featuring old good Arantir with an interesting plot and a well-developed balance (especially in version 1.1 :p)
Nomination: "Best Single-Player Scenario 2019-2020"
Title: Cursed
Map Description: Studying magic is a dangerous and unpredictable undertaking. In it, strength and power border on madness and death. And so Morgan, in his attempts to comprehend the lost magic of spirits, severely paid for his curiosity. Now he bears a heavy burden of deadly curse, threatening to drag his soul into a world of oblivion and fear.
Striving to save his life, he sets out in search of his longtime friend and at the same time a brilliant researcher who can find a way out of this difficult situation.
Comment: IMHO, the best map by this author; a very beautiful and elaborate scenario with interesting and well-implemented ideas.
The main problem is that polls for topics include a maximum of 28 options, and without using external resources, it's impossible to add more, and over the past 3 years (2017, 2018, 2019), too many maps have accumulated.
I've been thinking about it and came to the conclusion that, if necessary, we can create several separate threads specifically for voting.
I didn't include maps by Vita Gorodilov here.
Do you have some personal issues with him? :D
I nominate him for the Golden Raspberry Award :p

*indignant* you just haven't seen Gerter's campaign! I haven't either, but this guy showed me some pretty cool stuff! I think this saga will become the strongest and most popular campaign on the forum: the Unicorn Empire. Of course, it's possible that players of not very high level won't be able to pass it again (like Heart of the Night) and will get upset again, but what can you do. The Unicorn Empire wasn't casual either. And compared to the Master (my poor bones are aching), both Gerter and RedHeavenHero make everything on "easy" difficulty. So, when Gerter finishes it by the end of the year, we will all bow down to his awesomeness, and he will take the prize for the campaign! By the way, I want to finish a map for Heroes 6 this summer, which no one will play, and make the third part of my saga about my version of the continuation of the Heroes 5 plot.
PERSONALLY Vita Gorodilov: If you wish to participate in the contest, be sure to submit your application. Otherwise, your 8 maps that meet the contest requirements will not be considered.
P.S. And they won't receive the Golden Raspberry and Silver Boot awards:D
Are there really no decent ones among these 8(!!!)? I remember one that I played through, and it was even functional. In some parts. And it was quite good for beginners.
Wow, even my little project is participating. I hope I can finish the second map before the deadline, because it's been stuck for almost a year, but now I have some motivation, hehe.
Thank you for the initiative and for organizing this.
