New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?

Here's a question: is it possible to use scripts to affect the characteristics of individual groups of creatures (sorcerers, large creatures, small creatures, flying creatures, etc.) in a hero's or an enemy's army before a battle? If so, could we create 1-2 specializations based on this?
So, will it be possible to do this after merging with NCF, or will it be possible to create something similar? I'm also curious, will NCF creatures be balanced, or will there still be some overpowered ones? :smile08:
RedHeavenHero, the NHF MS 0.7 program refuses to reprocess my map, Absolute Power, due to different paths.
Yes, that was my mistake. The program in the archive first searches for the map tag file (map-tag.xdb) in all folders within Maps/Multiplayer/*, and then uses the link in that file to find map.xdb.
So, should I modify the program to process all map.xdb files in the archive to ensure it works correctly?
It won't work – otherwise, how would you determine whether a map is for online play, single-player, a hotseat game, or simply a scene for dialogue/battle? Therefore, it's probably best to only process maps located in all the nested folders within Maps/RMG and Maps/Multiplayer.
Several ideas for specializations have emerged:
Haven: the chance of joining Haven creatures increases by 20% (in the biography, you can write something like this: during the formation of the Griffin Empire, this character was an ambassador of the central government in rebellious or, at that time, independent duchies and negotiated their peaceful accession).
Inferno: the hero can sacrifice an allied hero (in essence, the hero is simply disbanded along with the army; the hero cannot be a demon or a Necromancer) and receive experience for it, for example, 400 * their_level.
Necropolis: if the hero kills 4 or more basic-level living creatures within a week, the growth of creatures of the corresponding level in the Necropolis castles increases by a certain amount, for example, by 50%, or a formula can be devised. (in the biography, you can write that the necromancer, realizing that he does not have enough dark energy and necromantic skill to raise all the dead, uses magic to send them to the castle, where local necromancers revive them and add them to the hire).
Dungeon: for every 3 artifacts in the inventory (it doesn't matter if they are worn or not), the hero receives +1 to magic. (in the biography, you can write that he learned to draw some magical power from artifacts and use it for his magical purposes).
Academy: the hero receives +1 to knowledge for every 2 levels; the bonus only works when he is in the castle. The main essence of the specialization is to forge better mini-artifacts than others; in addition, you can accumulate a considerable amount of mana. (in the biography, you can write that he knows how to manage city libraries better than anyone else, which gives him a bonus in cities).
Fortress: at the beginning of the turn, all mines that are within one turn's distance from the hero and are not protected by anyone come under his banner; if it is not possible to check the presence of mine protection, then it can be made so that all mines not belonging to neutrals are captured, so that the player cannot free protected mines at the beginning. (in the biography, you can write that the hero always agreed to take local engineers with him on adventures; in gratitude for this, they helped him save time on mines).
Fiona?
It seems interesting.
It seems far-fetched.
The mini-artifacts at the Academy are already overpowered. And this hero won't be a main character.
This hero is doomed to be a cannon fodder.
Another interesting question is whether this could be used to create a new special ability. Is it possible to influence, before a battle, the number of units the neutral army will be divided into on the battlefield?
Today I played a few games as Haven; I liked that you can combine heroes for it (very good combinations: Iris + Gabriel, Octavio + Nicholas), although it's not always possible to find a partner early on. Drago and Fiona seemed weak to me. Jeer levels up quickly, even faster than Vinrael, but I don't think he needs to be weakened.
