First, when you find the correct artifact, a message will appear indicating that you should go there. If it doesn't appear, it means it's not the right one.
Second, Cerberuses need boots, not a ring.
Third, I'm not responsible for the minotaurs. It's possible that you have a map mod installed that makes them so "resilient."
