Posts from Battle of the Celestial Gates
You need to escape, not surrender, for the hero to appear in the tavern. If he surrenders or doesn't manage to escape, it's like losing a hero. I don't know why it's designed that way, but it ends up being a bit more expensive due to having to buy new units. Otherwise, you need artifacts that boost initiative and keep harassing him until he attacks the castle, because he's a very dangerous enemy with teleportation.
Decided to play through this atmospheric map for the third time. This time, the main hero became Raileg, as the plan was to take advantage of his ability to reduce enemy initiative. Immediately, I headed underground to capture buildings and recruit "invisible" troops. I returned to the first guest, having acquired "Pyrokinesis" and "Lucky Mage," and later, "Phoenix Cloak." Considering that the elder druids from reinforcements increased magic by up to 67, the rest of the Walkthrough was easy, and my strategy was correct. I easily defeated all the enemies, including Kana, as I had a large number of troops accumulated from the City of Mages, thanks to "Night Hags," etc. For the battle against Pyrrhus, I simply switched the main hero to Arantir, and then came the most interesting part: In the battle against Udon, if you use "Regeneration," a bug is observed! After the battle, all troops are in the same quantity as before the battle. For example, after the battle, I had 38 monks left (I was tired of simply "raising" them with regeneration), but after the autosave, I had 185 monks again! The same story happened with all troops where I used this spell, and where I didn't, they died as expected! No mods are installed. The battle was in the Castle of Humans. I think this is a bug due to choosing a non-standard main hero, knowing the ending. That's how it was.
Another tip for everyone: if possible, meet enemies outside the castle; this will give you time to capture buildings and gain a good advantage. I didn't even upgrade logistics and still managed to be everywhere on time. There was a week of plague, but still, by the end, there were so many troops that I didn't know what to do with them! I didn't even need dragons (and black magic doesn't affect them). I defeated everyone on the first try without reloading, and I still haven't found a staff with 20 "Initiative"! In short, the main thing is to have a plan for the game. Good luck to everyone. Thanks again to the author for the super interesting map! I really want to play it again, but with a new strategy and main hero.
What difficulty level was the hero playing on?
And on Cana, you need to choose 3 skills in the skill wheel that reduce magic: in Luck, Defense, and Chaos, plus give everyone mini-artifacts against magic and defense, and then you can easily handle Dark and Chaos...
There's no honor in war... Two brothers (siege masters), they were so scared to attack that one just gave all his troops to the other... I was laughing! I crushed them like kids; the second one only had one stack... it was fun.
And against Kahn, you need to choose 3 skills in the skill wheel that reduce magic: in luck, defense, and chaos + give everyone mini-artifacts against magic and defense, and then you can easily handle him in darkness and chaos...
I only went into the Dungeon when Kahn arrived.

Thank you for the feedback. I haven't tried playing with Raileg yet; it's probably very difficult to manage the early battles against demons with him as the main hero.

I finally defeated Kana, probably on the 30th attempt. His army simply grew tenfold; consider that he was "fermenting" underground for 2 weeks, and I found a Hive there in the library.
Was the final battle easier than the one with Kana?
I didn't quite understand what you meant by "fermenting" underground. Kana shouldn't have been able to get into the underground, let alone "ferment" there for 2 weeks. Or are you talking about Kaine?

Was the last battle easier than the one against Kahn?
I didn't quite understand what you meant about wandering underground. Kahn shouldn't have been able to get into the dungeon, let alone wander around for two weeks. Or are you talking about Kane?
I crawled to the end of the map, 119 days ("hero"). The scenario is well-thought-out, the map's geography is good, and the map's artwork is of high quality. I didn't like the opposing heroes at all. I started playing the map, then stopped, and then continued. I got annoyed again, stopped, continued again, replayed it, got annoyed, and stopped... Right now, I'm not really in the mood for maps. But, as they say, in times of scarcity, even shrimp is a fish; without these circumstances, I wouldn't have reached the end of this map no matter what. In the pursuit of creating "difficulty," the core of the game – strategy – has been forgotten. How can we talk about strategic development if the AI heroes act according to their own, random rules, which are inaccessible to the player? It's like preparing a football team, but the opponent sends out a rugby team or a polo team on the field. (Udun annoyed me the most; Kahn is nothing, the battle is won on the first try.) Even in the final battle, it's not the hero that the player chooses who participates, but rather a random one. If it was stated at the beginning of the map that Railag is a key character, that would be one thing. But when he sits idle throughout the game, and then the author suddenly sends him into the last battle, that's something else entirely.
My main hero was Kane; he defended almost all the castle sieges. I tried Frieda, but it didn't work out; she looks too weak compared to the AI heroes. I put Zehir on a war elephant; he cleared most of the map, mentored other heroes, and met Pyrrhus. Fedya, Frieda, and Gotai captured and maintained the flag on the human dwellings. Isabelle guarded the rear in the castle. The rest were just running around, fetching and carrying.
Even in the final, it's not the hero the player chooses who goes, but rather a random one.
However, I smoothed out this moment by giving Railagu experience up to level 40, artifacts, and an army, as well as some time to reach the mentor or another hero.
Thank you for your feedback.
There are significant problems with sorting diverse troops on the map. Leaving them in mines is not safe, and the Academy's castle garrison is one-sided. You can place troops in it, but you can't take them back out. Using a single hero as a holding area for unwanted units is not very convenient.
If reinforcements were sent in separate batches to different castles, it would eliminate the need to distribute units. But as it is, you can't do without a sorting point.
Perhaps their numbers could be reduced, and someone else added in their place, or simply reduce their numbers.
