2. A tournament participant must have played several official games in the seasonal tournament or another official tournament on HeroesWorld, or at least 3 games with detailed reports in the fan games thread on heroesworld (the games must be played and reports written before the end of registration for the tournament).
3. Semi-finalists of the upper and lower brackets of the Novice tournament, or those who have participated in more than two tournaments from the Novice series, are not allowed to participate.
4. Players with a permanent HeroesWorld rating of 1700+ at the time of submitting the registration application will not be accepted into the tournament.

7. The participant must be able to play 1 game every two weeks - the priority time for playing is 19-24 MSK on weekdays and 12-24 MSK on weekends.
8. If it is discovered during the tournament that a player has provided false information, they will be disqualified from the tournament, and the materials will be forwarded to the Tournament Committee (TC).

Leave your applications in this thread:

There is a Detailed guide with pictures FAQ17 on the forum on how to do this.
You need to do the following:
1. Check if an ICQ number is entered in your profile; add it if it is not there.
If it is in your profile, a little green daisy - the ICQ symbol - will be visible under your avatar. If it is not, you need to follow the algorithm.
2. Leave an application in this thread. To do this, click the Sign up for tournament button, which is located at the beginning of this thread and at the top of each page.
3. 2-3 days before the draw, you must get in touch with the host sir Davos Seaworth (ICQ 716748479) and confirm participation. Players who have disappeared from the forum (no user activity for a week) will not be allowed into the draw.

Organizational questions:

1. Tournament host: sir Davos Seaworth (ICQ 716748479), judges: kamukag3e (ICQ 722535591), Xocenk (ICQ 703804372). In the most extreme case, contact Dirty Player (ICQ 408722873).
2. The tournament is held according to the Rules for organizing, conducting, and participating in online HOMM3 tournaments.
3. The Regulations and Rules of the tournament will not be changed after the end of registration, during the tournament.
4. For each game played, participants must provide a detailed report and detailed confirmation in this thread. Only then will the game be counted. All tournament reports must be written using the automatic report writing system: Detailed guide with pictures FAQ18.
- To create a report, click the New report button located at the top of each page of the thread and fill in all necessary fields according to the template. After that, you need to write your detailed comments on the game.
- To confirm the report, the second player needs to find the game report, click the Confirm report button, and also write a detailed report.
- It is considered good manners to thank your opponent for the game.
5. All tournament games go into the player rating of HoMM3 HW.
6. The tournament winner will receive the right to participate in the FB-14 tournament, provided that at the start of that tournament they have a rating of no less than 1750.
7. In games not played within the established deadline, technical results will be awarded.
8. Saves and password files for all games must be kept until the end of the tournament and presented at the first request of the tournament hosts and judges, or any member of the Tournament Committee (TC). Forgetting or losing the password for a game may serve as grounds for awarding a technical loss in the game.
9. Disputed issues, if any, please discuss outside the forum. To resolve, you must contact the host or judge of the tournament via ICQ and provide daily saves, ICQ logs, and other necessary information.
The judges' decision is made primarily based on the tournament rules. If the situation is not regulated by the rules, the judges are guided by basic logic and game ethics.

RULES FOR GAME AGREEMENTS:
1. No later than 7 days after the start of each round, players must contact their opponents and agree on the date and time of the game between themselves.
- If postponing a game, agree on its resumption date.

2. If within 7 days the players cannot agree on a game date, or one player writes to the opponent and receives no reply, then you must immediately notify the host and provide the message history for that specific game. Mandatory dates for games will be scheduled. The host reserves the right to assign mandatory game dates (MGDs), primarily on weekends in the evening MSK time. MGDs are set within the deadlines of the specific round; MGDs are not set outside the round deadlines. If you miss the deadline and do not contact the host, arrange the game yourselves. In case of a no-show for two MGDs, technical losses will be awarded. In case of no information about the game from both players, technical losses will be awarded to both participants.

Regulations

Tournament Format.

The tournament is held according to the following scheme: Group Stage + Playoffs (upper and lower brackets).
Group Stage – 4 groups. From the group to the Playoff round in the upper bracket, players finishing in first and second place advance; third and fourth place advance to the Playoffs in the lower bracket.

The main criterion for leaving the group is the number of points scored (a win gives 3 points, a draw 1, a loss 0). If several players have scored the same number of points, additional indicators come into effect (in order of priority):
a) Berger coefficient;
b) Head-to-head result;

c) If it is impossible to give priority based on additional indicators a and b between players, a playoff game is held on the template Skirmish M 200% .

Playoffs – Upper and lower bracket.
In the upper bracket, games are played up to 2 wins. In the lower bracket, games are played up to 1 win until the final. The lower bracket final is played up to 2 wins.
A player who loses in the upper bracket moves to the lower bracket; a player who loses in the lower bracket is eliminated from the tournament.
The Grand Final is played up to 3 wins. The player advancing through the upper bracket has an advantage of 1 map.

Timeline.

Registration: November 01 – December 25, 2019 (until 00:00 Moscow time)
Draw and group formation: December 26, 2019
Tournament start: December 27, 2019
Group stage: December 27, 2019 - February 28, 2020
Playoff round: March 01, 2020 - July 01, 2020

My opponent had a really bad draw, and I had a great one. Thanks for the game!

Thanks for the game!

There was 1 single unit, and 2 hives on the second tier, where I got a bit stuck. There were no vulnerable units in the treasure. There were no objects in the treasure.

I thought I was lucky with a starting layout of 16 Elves, Necromancer, and I wasn't even intimidated by the 20-49 Air Elementals blocking the road. I felt I was developing quickly enough; on Day 126 I entered one of the two General Treasure Hives and was afraid to take on a Dragon Utopia with 24 Wyverns and 150 Skeletons without magic. Perhaps that was the critical mistake—I thought I had at least a couple of days in reserve to gather Dragon Fly Hives. The very next day, the opponent rushed in, and I could no longer reach it. Though the question remains whether I ever had a chance—the opponent already had 30+ upgraded Wyverns, Angels, all the Earth, and Tazar was running around with 3400 movement points, against Kyr with 3000. In the Dragon Utopia, Taz also acquired high stats. I had no luck with magic—by the 3rd week I managed two rebuilds of the 4th level, only getting Resurrect. I tried to find something in the Treasure Hive while the opponent was taking cities, but the number of Wyverns lost was comparable to those acquired, and nothing valuable turned up. In the end, I surrendered on Day 136, left without cities and outs.

I started playing due to Isra and the Conflux opponent on the first day, and on the second day I saw a Griffin Conservatory and a Dragon Fly Hive. Then the problems began. There was no direct road to the opponent, the roads were blocked or led to exit portals. I didn't build bears and fought with cats from the external dwelling and rock elementals, the opponent had already killed the first computer player. As a result, at the beginning of the second week, I found a passage to the opponent through wasteland. And then the computer killed my cats, my main hero barely escaped. The sneaky AI built a second mage guild and Breeches zapped me with lightning. After buying all the troops, I barely defeated the computer; in the end, I had to change resources and forget about the fourth mage guild, converting everything to construction and buying bears, just to at least take the Dragon Fly Hive and the level-2 Griffin Conservatory by day 131. I saw that the opponent had taken cities from two more computers. I thought it would be tough, but I didn't despair and went for the treasure. Then the opponent surrendered; it turned out that although he had many cities, he had practically no troops, and the objects didn't give him much. My army, which seemed pathetic to me at 131 (3 bears, 8 Thunderbirds, 8 wyverns, 2 angels), turned out to be stronger than what the opponent could basically buy from the growth in his cities (dendroid soldiers, elves, and centaurs scattered across three cities).

I thought I was lucky when I got 16 Elves at the start, playing as the Necromancer. Even 20-49 aerial units blocking the way didn't scare me. I developed quite quickly, in my opinion, and by day 126, I reached one of the two shared treasure locations. I hesitated to take the Utopia with 24 Ducks and 150 Skeletons without magic. Maybe that was a critical mistake; I thought I had at least a couple of days to gather more clues. The very next day, my opponent arrived, and I couldn't reach it anymore. Although, the question is whether I even had a chance. My opponent already had 30+ upgraded Ducks, Angels all over the map, and Tazar was running around with 3400 movement points, against my Kirq with 3000. In the Utopia, Tazar also acquired high stats. I didn't have much luck with magic; by the 3rd week, I managed to build 2 level 4 structures, and I only got Resurrect. I tried to find something in the treasure while my opponent was taking cities, but the number of dead Ducks there was comparable to the number he had acquired, and there was nothing valuable. In the end, on day 136, I surrendered, left without cities and outposts.

At first, everything was average. But then came the mega-bonuses: a bunch of Hives, boots, gloves, and a Tower village with a teleportation spell right away. Thanks for the game!

The troops got somewhat depleted, especially in the beginning the computer defended well in the fort with fat stacks. I lost some more troops when retaking the gauntlets. In principle, maybe I could have played on with hope for Kyrre, but I surrendered due to dismorale.

There were a lot of roads and teleports + Sur Mulich, so I started playing. The template generated was strange; it turned out there were 2 computers (not mine) nearby. The opponent also had a computer right next to him. I opened up a lot of roads, captured the computers, but lol I didn't see another passage, thought it was mountains. And it turned out the opponent was there; on 117 he ran out, captured the village and killed a scout hero or two. On 121 I took everything back, but somehow I didn't refill Mulich's mana, and I should have thrown him into the castle after the stables. And then Tazar takes the Dragon Fly Hive right under my nose. I should have covered him on 122, but I was somehow afraid of the tactics, thought Tazar would charge at me, and I started waiting for him, saving up to buy troops. And Taz somehow got angels from who knows where. It got kind of sketchy; there was also a Griffin Conservatory near the opponent's computer within 400 moves. It was already starting to feel like a slog. I put a Pikadril to capture the computer and went with my main to nowhere. And then, oh miracle, Tazar speeds up on angels near the computer's castle, and leaves the Wyverns with a noob in the Stronghold. I make a trade of everything and attack 7 Wyverns in the Stronghold with all my power (150 Marksmen, 23 Golems, 3 Wyverns and some fodder). I bought back troops, didn't have enough to buy back the main, but Tazar was afraid to recapture the Stronghold, and the next day Mulich covered Tazar with 2 angels. Pikadril rules, took castles twice. If the opponent hadn't rushed, but simply sat with Tazar in the Stronghold with 2 angels and 7 Wyverns, it would have been unclear. Considering there was a Griffin Conservatory near the castle, and I had nothing else left, it could have ended badly for me.

It got kind of sketchy; there was also a Griffin Conservatory in 400 movement range near the opponent's computer. It was already starting to feel like a jampot. I put a pikeman hero to take a computer and sent my main into nowhere. And then, lo and behold, Taz speeds up on angels next to the computer's castle, and leaves the wyverns on a scrub in the Stronghold. I make a trade of everything and attack 7 wyverns in the Stronghold with all my might (150 gremlins, 23 golems, 3 wyverns, and some meat). I bought back troops, didn't have enough to rebuy my main, but Taz was afraid to retake the Stronghold, and the next day Mulich covered Tazar with 2 angels. The pikeman hero rules, took castles twice. If the opponent hadn't sped up, but just sat Tazar in the Stronghold with 2 angels and 7 wyverns, it would have been unclear. Considering the presence of the Griffin Conservatory near the castle, and I have nothing else, it could have ended badly for me.
I played because of the Dragon Fly Hive, the Griffin Conservatory, and 2 Dragon Utopias in the starting zone. I killed a computer; near its castle there was another Griffin Conservatory. On day 116 I saw that the opponent was already very close; on day 117 I broke through the guard and took his village, killed a hero.
On day 121 I got a reply in the form of a bunch of scout heroes from the opponent with magic. It was quite unpleasant, but then Tazar took the Dragon Fly Hive, got 11 wyverns, leveled up tactics, and demolished a particularly cocky scout hero with a bunch of mana, with no chance to go.
Seeing, on day 122, that the opponent wasn't bringing out his forces, wasn't attacking 11 wyverns, I decided he had few troops. Even after taking my Stronghold, Solmyr, whom I considered the opponent's main, didn't bring in troops and was kicked out of there. I made a wrong conclusion that the opponent had so little army that he couldn't even hold a dungeon Stronghold with doubled mana.
On day 123 I took a level 2 Griffin Conservatory.
On day 124, not seeing any strong heroes from the opponent ready to attack, I boldly sped up with 2 angels and left the wyverns in the Stronghold. And then it turned out the opponent had a huge army that could easily tear me apart even on a mere scout hero. 150 gremlins, 6 mages, 23 golems, 3 wyverns, upgraded snakes, upgraded gargoyles, basilisks. All in considerable numbers, not a single stack is one-shot, and all of this backed by a Ballista with 100+ HP.
If I had played it safe and sat my main in the Stronghold, and the next turn taken the level 3 Griffin Conservatory, then with 5 angels I could have still put up a fight. But I had no idea the opponent had such a large army, just from castles, especially since I was periodically cutting off his scout heroes and thought the opponent wasn't doing too well with money.
Thanks for the game!

It started off well — thanks to the demons' external dwelling, I killed all the computers in the first week. I found 2 Dragon Fly Hives. I was ahead of the opponent in terms of towns. But as it turned out later, on my resp and the 3 comp resps, there were only these 2 Dragon Fly Hives, plus some lone Griffin Conservatory deep in the snow. I started digging for resources to build up in Tower and gather demons. On 126 I dove into a treasure and ran into a "group" of green dragons blocking the passage. Due to a stupid translation issue, I messed up again. "Group" had always meant 10-19, so I got scared and pulled back, but it turned out to be 5-9 in my translation. I lost 3 days buying and transporting troops and leveling the hero. In the end, I fell far behind. On 135 I built full control using the library and rebuilding. On 137 I prepared to attack the opponent; he was ahead in army strength, but the attack was successful. I started taking cities, while my main was wandering somewhere in the treasure. In terms of main skills, I had more, and the opponent apparently kept trying to find something in the treasure until the last moment, even though I would have fought him given his larger army. In the end, there was no final battle — the opponent surrendered, because with a huge number of cities, the demon horde was growing faster than the skeletons. As the post-game analysis showed, the opponent had a decent number of angels on their resps (5 against my 1) and swans (~24 against my 12), 2 Necromancers and Jedite. I actually liked his setup more, but maybe I don't know some of the finer details. Thanks for the game.
