Despite my limited gaming experience, I decided to present a setting project for public review based on the core idea of character synergy.
The Neverhood. Plasticine Chronicles.
Calamity has befallen the kingdom of NEVERhood. The creator and ruler of the kingdom, Tuborg, fell victim to the intrigues of the cunning Windows. The great hero of this world, NT, defeated the usurper, but proclaimed himself the new ruler - Windows 2000.
In these difficult times, the last adventurer of the plasticine world was created - Glinok. Will he be able to lead the last bearers of the opensource spark, or will proprietary darkness fall upon the world?
Time will tell.
Note: the author uses terminology and world history from the translation by "Uncle Risyoch". Information from the Great Wall is not taken into account.
Opensource:Tuborg
Creator and ruler of the NEVERhood world. He first created Himself, then Plasticine, then the World, then the inhabitants of the World. The first of those created - Windows - stole the crown from Tuborg, causing the ruler to enter a state of eternal freezing. According to prophecy, Tuborg will remain frozen until the Crown is once again placed upon his brow.
Features:
1. Infinite Freezing. The character cannot perform any NDs. Any NDs targeting the character (except for "Cannon Shot") automatically fail. The character can still communicate telepathically with other characters, but possesses only a single voice rather than a double voice. A check on the character shows "No signal". This feature does not protect from execution. Tuborg loses this feature after completing the quest "Return of the Crown".
Abilities:
1. ND. Out of plasticine you came... The character heals a selected player-target. Displayed in the newspaper. Tuborg receives this ability on the turn following the completion of the quest "Return of the Crown". The target's status changes to: "Created by Tuborg". Displayed in the newspaper.
2. ND, ult. Power of the Crown. The character turns a selected player-target into an original life byte, ignoring defense but not freezing. Tuborg receives this ability on the turn following the acquisition of the ability "Out of plasticine you came...".
3. ND, ult. Life Byte. The character resurrects a selected player-target. A life byte is required to use this ability. The target's status changes to: "Created by Tuborg". Tuborg receives this ability on the turn following the acquisition of the ability "Power of the Crown". Displayed in the newspaper.
4. DD. Creator of all existence. The character possesses a double voice. Tuborg receives this ability after completing the quest "Return of the Crown".
Status: created by Tuborg.
Glinok
Adventurer of the NEVERhood world. Sprouted from the second life byte activated by Willy Barankin. The only one still capable of saving Tuborg.
Abilities:
1. ND. Complete quest.
a) Return of the Crown. After completing this quest, Tuborg wakes up. Displayed in the newspaper.
b) Hack Cannon codes. After completing this quest, Glinok receives the "Cannon Shot" ability. Displayed in the newspaper.
2. ND. Cannon Shot. The character kills a selected player-target. Defense and freezing do not save them; redirection works successfully. The character loses this ability if Windows 2000 uses the "Reboot" ability, or if the previous ND was "Cannon Shot" (the codes must be hacked again for each shot). Displayed in the newspaper.
3. ND, free action. Last Will. Glinok can choose any target character to whom he transfers his "Complete quest" ability (but not the "Last Will" ability) after his death. The state of the "Return of the Crown" quest is preserved; "Hack Cannon codes" is reset. This ability can be used together with any other ability. It cannot be applied to an illiterate target. The same will target can be changed every turn. Not displayed in the newspaper, but displayed after death, specifying the target character.
Status: created by Tuborg.
Willy Barankin
One of the first characters created by Tuborg. He found two life bytes dropped by Tuborg and used one to create NT and the other to create Glinok.
Features:
1. Paranoia. After Windows learned how to intercept messages, Willy stopped trusting notes; instead of notes, he uses video discs.
2. Video Disc. Can send messages to Glinok (or his heir) during the night phase. The character receives a notification when they receive a message.
Abilities:
1. ND. Spy. Tracks a player, finding out who they contacted at night. Displayed in the newspaper.
2. ND. Dinner Invitation. Blocks this player. If applied to the Beast, Willy eats the Beast. Can be used starting from the second night phase. Displayed in the newspaper.
Status: created by Tuborg.
Robot Bill
A giant robot created by Windows. Glinok switched his mode to good, and now the robot tirelessly protects the values of free software.
Features:
1. Sentimentality. Upon meeting the Bear, he allows him into the control cabin to switch the mode, forcing the robot to protect proprietary values. Displayed in the newspaper.
2. Multiprocessor Architecture. Survives the first "Cannon Shot" targeting him. Displayed in the newspaper.
2. External Operator. If Robot Bill has died, any opensource character except the Television can climb into his control cabin and operate him manually. Climbing in occurs at the end of the day phase; climbing out occurs during the night phase, consuming a full turn. The robot's driver cannot perform their own NDs while controlling the robot. The robot's driver can be attacked according to usual rules. Operator mode is incompatible with evil operating mode. Displayed in the newspaper as a fact, without specifying the target.
Abilities:
1. ND. "Defense" Subroutine. The character protects a selected player-target from death. Does not work against kills by "Cannon Shot". Displayed in the newspaper.
2. ND. "Block" Subroutine. Prevents targets from performing any NDs. Prevents the target from writing a note. Can be used once every two night phases. Displayed in the newspaper.
Status: created by Windows.

Features:
1. Immobility. Cannot operate Robot Bill.
Abilities:
1. ND. Author's Research. Determines who created this player's character - Tuborg or Windows. If the target is in Robot Bill's cabin or is in a frozen state, it returns: "No signal". Displayed in the newspaper.
Status: created by Windows.
Sheep
A poor animal that survived the cataclysms of the NEVERhood world. Survived because it rapidly developed its brain. Alas, the brain brought along such abstract things as the philosophy of sacrifice...
Features:
1. Survival Instincts. The character cannot be killed on the first attempt. Does not work against "Cannon Shot". Does not work against "Higher Goals" and "Self-Sacrifice" abilities. Displayed in the newspaper.
2. Illiteracy. Cannot leave notes. Has no voice during the day phase.
Abilities:
1. DD. Higher Goals. Protects a player from execution at the cost of their own life. The ability must be announced to the game master via private message before the end of the day phase.
2. ND. Self-Sacrifice. Protects a player from death at the cost of their own life. If killed by "Cannon Shot", the character dies but does not save the player.
Status: created by Tuborg.
Guy With Hammer
A creature created by Tuborg to guard the teleport. When Windows 2000 destroyed the teleportation network, he was left unemployed. He voluntarily took on the duties of "sheriff" of the NEVERhood world.

Status: created by Tuborg.
Beast
A wild animal that has roamed the NEVERhood world since time immemorial. Tamed by Glinok using a music box. Though, "tamed" is a relative term...

1. Kinship with Giraffes. If the target was killed, they only realize it at the end of the next night phase. The Beast can still use its NDs the following night as usual. The kill is displayed at the moment of actual death; no clues about the killer are given. This feature does not work against "Cannon Shot".
2. Illiteracy. Cannot leave notes. Has no voice during the day phase.

Status: created by Tuborg.
Hacker from Kharkiv
A certain entity that entered the NEVERhood world from outside. Voluntarily took on the duty of maintaining order - primarily verbal order.

Abilities:
1. ND. Drink. Drinks alcohol together with a player-target, blocking them. Prevents performing NDs. Displayed in the newspaper.

Status: created by Windows.
Neutral:Windows 2000
Glinok was not the first attempt by Willy to return the crown to Tuborg. From the first life byte, he created NT. Unfortunately, NT proved to be as corrupt as Windows. NT stole the Crown from Windows but did not return it to Tuborg; instead, he put it on himself. Experiencing the effect of the Crown, he proclaimed himself Windows 2000 and decided to cleanse the NEVERhood world of imperfect characters.
