You're wrong. If people follow this rule, it will only clutter the thread. And controlling this rule might be more difficult than you think. Although in a Mafia game with nine players, it might not be critical.

I remember those times when I played in person. There, it wasn't necessary to remain silent at night, and many people calmly chatted with their eyes closed, saying things like "don't kill me" or "whoever kills me, they're #?:%#!". Let's keep that option, but we shouldn't overdo it.

Also, something I didn't like about this Mafia game is the inability to express my emotions after the day ends or ask a question/leave a suggestion for the GM during the night in the main thread. And those who want to will say it anyway, but in private.
