Posts from RMG – help with a problem.Auto-translated
Hello. I recently started learning how to use the map generator and added new objects that should be on the map (like Sylvan trees, a Temple from the Dungeon for dwarves, etc.). I encountered a problem: these objects are not guarded by mobs (for example, like mines or arenas). Could someone who knows how this works please tell me how to make these objects guarded? Also, in my opinion, a tent with artifacts or a fort on a hill should also be guarded by mobs.
Place them next to each other. Go to the monsters tab. Make sure the neutral creatures are standing near the entrance, not further away.
I'm not touching the map editor; why was this topic moved here? I'm trying to figure out the map generator. I think these are two different things. Please move the topic back to the mods section or the map generator section (I couldn't find one).
Try using the IRMG generator; there probably isn't such a problem there: /topic/8845/ If you don't like that RMG, you can try installing new templates in the standard generator (there is a link in the same topic, although I am not 100% sure whether the templates for IRMG are suitable for the regular random map generator, but if not, you need to search online; external templates definitely exist for the regular RMG). Oh, here's another one I found: /topic/11413/

I don't like other generators; they look crude. But the game's generator is quite good, and it's enjoyable to use. The issue here isn't with the templates; no matter what template you put in, the generator doesn't place guards only on a) passages between zones, b) mines, c) guarded treasures (chests, artifacts, resource piles, etc.), and on objects that increase stats, such as arenas or towers. The line is responsible for guarding these objects; if you set the value to 0, for example, at a gold mine, there will be no guard there, but changing the line does not affect the presence of guards at shops, mills, warrior graves, etc. Perhaps this is due to another hidden parameter; I don't even know where to look.
Added after 7 minutes Is it possible to get this generator separately from the game? And tinker with it.
Hmm, interesting... Can the map editor place objects on the map that are not in the original game (from mods)? Then it would be possible to generate a couple of such objects, include scripts, and use scripts to give these objects internal guards. Another option is some kind of script that, at the start of the map, randomly assigns guards to all such unguarded objects using a search function. However, these are workarounds, and I don't know how to do it purely using the map editor's features.
Isn't the issue about how the generator looks? The main thing is that the result should be "good." ;) Then generate several maps using IRMG and compare them with maps created using the built-in RMG. However, the comparison won't be entirely accurate because IRMG maps are more suitable for the Tournaments mod.

Yes, GSC can place any objects on the map, for example, sunken ships in the sea. Or an unrealized treasure dungeon "cyclops warehouse" from the game, but with an existing model. I also had the idea to make internal guards for, for example, a fort on a hill, like in treasuries. But it will look strange somehow.KillAndAction

It's a matter of taste. For me, the most important thing in games is its relaxing atmosphere. So that the picture is pleasant. Besides, the standard generator isn't so bad; if you improve it, it could become really good
