Um... so, here's the thing. I just started the second map and rearranged the units in the slots. It turns out that the Nomad doesn't carry the Serpent across the desert (no matter how I change their positions, they still reach their destination), but the Serpent carries the Nomad across the swamp (meaning the Serpent should be on the right, for some reason), just like Iron says!!! Can anyone explain this? :smile45:
Here's the thing... If you're moving units in your army that are on terrain that you haven't explored, the terrain penalty will always apply. No matter how you position them relative to the units that are on their native terrain, whether you put them to the left, right, or even between the legs of a horse. The exception to this rule is neutral units, i.e., those that don't belong to any of the castles you know (Nomads, Thieves, Wizards, etc.). They need to be placed to the left of the units that are on their native terrain, provided that, in your army, besides the neutral unit(s), there are no other units for which the terrain is a "penalty" terrain. It's even simpler with the Nomad. Its presence in any stack guarantees that you won't suffer a penalty when moving across sand.
It turns out that the nomad doesn't drag the snake across the desert (meaning no matter how you change it, they still reach their destination), but the snake drags him through the swamp (meaning the snake should be on the right, for some reason), just like Iron says! Can anyone explain this?
Just go back to the comments that were made immediately after the second stage was completed – everything has already been discussed there. For example, here.
Greetings to all tournament participants, I apologize for being absent over the weekend, but I only have internet access at work, so I usually don't visit the forum on weekends and holidays. I received the saves for the third stage and updated the table... everyone who sent a save can check their nickname... it should be nicely highlighted from the rest... :)
Sincerely.

Here's an idea that came to mind: AmberSoler sends the save file last (most likely), which means he sees the results of all other players before he sends his own save. Therefore, AmberSoler can know exactly how much he needs to improve his result to beat everyone (if there isn't an absolutely unbeatable result, of course). If this is the case, then it's definitely unfair! to AmberSoler: how about players sending you their save files only after you decide that "this is my best result" and you don't replay anymore? Of course, no one can know that either, so you need someone to monitor this... P.S. no offense, it's just that it would be fair.

You clearly didn't understand the situation, save files are sent to me, and I check the save files. Respected AmberSoler creates the tasks. But he learns about your results just like you do, from the table.
Sincerely.

You clearly misunderstood the situation. The save files are sent to me, and I check them. AmberSoler creates the tasks. But he learns about your results in the same way you do, from the table. Best regards.
I am replying to Ley, although I am responding to Kyle's post. If AmberSoler is creating the tasks, then he should definitely know the solution. Kyle checks the final save files and sees the player's final solution as well. So what? This is not a reason to exclude the organizers from the tournament. And what's the point of them putting in all this effort for us if they're not getting anything in return? It's enough that each player knows that, in addition to the final save file, they are not obliged to provide anything else for review (no descriptions, no additional save files) until they see the PRELIMINARY results. If they see that they have the same result as the organizers, then let them be the first to provide a description. And if your result turns out to be the best, then please provide everything that is requested of you within the rules. The fact that the organizer sees your final save file with the result means that he still needs to understand the essence of your playthrough and repeat it in order to achieve your result. But if the tournament ends, say, on May 30, and they are required to post the preliminary results the next day, then nothing prevents you from sending your final save file on May 30. It is very difficult to replay in one day and get your result (if it is the best) in one day. So I don't see any problems with this, except that the PRELIMINARY results should be posted the very next day after the official end of the tournament. This is a matter of honor for the organizers themselves.
PS. In addition, I personally am sure that the people who spend their personal time for free organizing tournaments and creating tasks for us will not engage in such nonsense as falsifying results. What's the point for them? Or do you think they organize the tournament only for the purpose of being the first, no matter what method they use to achieve their result? I don't rule out that they also want to get the best result, but they will only be satisfied if they achieve this goal in a fair way. That's my opinion.
P.S. Besides, I personally am convinced that people who spend their free time organizing tournaments and creating challenges for us wouldn't engage in something as trivial as falsifying results. What would be the point for them? Or do you think they organize a tournament only to be the first, no matter what, regardless of the method they use to achieve their result? I don't rule out that they also want to achieve the best result, but they will only be satisfied if they achieve this goal fairly. That's just my opinion.
Strong words, I have nothing to add. You've made everything clear. From your previous posts, it's clear that you like to express your opinion and stick to it at all costs (even through arguments, sometimes even silly ones), well, that's your right. I didn't say, and certainly didn't accuse, that the organizers are "falsifying" results - that's one. Secondly, I apologized to AmberSoler. Thirdly, it would indeed be unfair if the organizer, who is also a participant in the tournament, could see all the saves. Fourthly, Kyle has now explained to me that only he can see the saves before the results are published, and he is not participating in the tournament. So, I have no more questions for the organizers on this topic.
"Единственное, что можно сказать с уверенностью об удаче - она изменит..."
Strongly disagree, I have nothing to add. Everything has been explained clearly. From your previous posts, it's clear that you like to express your opinion and stick to it at all costs (even through arguments, sometimes even silly ones), well, that's your right.
:) I would also be interested in seeing a link to my post with the silly statement. Ley;94369
I didn't say, and certainly didn't accuse, that the organizers are "falsifying" the results - that's one.
Well, you said that a playing organizer could see a better result and replicate it. This is practically falsifying the result. That's one.Ley;94369
Secondly, I apologized to AmberSoler.
Nevertheless, he is the one who creates the puzzles, and what do you think - when creating the puzzles, doesn't he even know an approximate solution? At the very least, he probably has to check them for the possibility of being solved. But I'll say it again - this is not a reason to exclude organizers from the tournament. After all, he still completes his own Walkthrough. That's two.Ley;94369
Thirdly, it would indeed be unfair if the organizer-participant in the tournament could see all the saves. Fourthly, Kyle has now explained to me that only he can see the saves before the results are published, and he is not participating in the tournament. So I have no more questions for the organizers on this topic.
Well, it's a pity that Kyle is not participating in the tournament. This tournament is planned to be a ranked one. On what basis should Kyle be deprived of part of his rating, which he could have earned, especially since some existing rating systems are cyclical and cumulative. The tournament organizer only sees the final saves that may be obtained on the last day of the official end of the tournament. What is unfair about that? He is unlikely to rig his result in one day with a preliminary entry, and he wouldn't even do it. That's three and four combined. PS. For your information, the issue of organizers participating in the tournament has already been raised somewhere on the forum, and if I remember correctly, this issue was resolved positively. Why Kyle is not participating in the blitz, I don't know, but it is his right, just as he has the right to participate in it.
:) It would be interesting to see a link to my post with a silly statement.
Well, for example, when you were arguing with AmberSoler about "features" and "bugs." That's silly. In general, AmberSoler, in my opinion, made it clear what, how, and why. How even a child can distinguish between these two incomparable things, and you argued until the very end. IronAxe;94392
:) You said that a player-organizer can see the best result and make the same one. This is practically a falsification of the result. That's one.
This is not one. To forge and improve a result are completely different things. What's not clear here? Did I accuse anyone of falsification? IronAxe;94392
:) Nevertheless, he is the one who creates the tasks, and what do you think - when creating tasks, doesn't he even know an approximate solution? At the very least, he probably has to check them for the possibility of completion. But I repeat - this is not a reason to exclude organizers from the tournament. After all, he still completes his own walkthrough. That's two.
This is not two, and not even one. What does it matter that he creates and designs tasks for us? If you read my post carefully, you can see that I didn't mean that at all. That he creates and participates - please, it doesn't bother me at all, especially since, as the first stage showed, AmberSoler's result was far from the best. Besides, I didn't say that "this is a reason to exclude organizers from the tournament." Read more carefully. IronAxe;94392
:) And it's bad that Kyle is not participating in the tournament. This tournament is planned to be a ranked one. On what basis should Kyle be deprived of part of his rating, which he could have earned, especially since some existing rating systems are cyclical and cumulative. The tournament organizer only sees the final saves that may be obtained on the last day of the official end of the tournament. What is unfair about this? He is unlikely to artificially improve his result in one day with the introduction of a preliminary stage, and he wouldn't even do it. That's three and four combined.
And what does this have to do with it at all? If he participated, then maybe it would be worth continuing, but as it is, I didn't say anything about Kyle. IronAxe;94392
:) PS. For your information, the issue of organizers participating in the tournament has already been raised somewhere on the forum, and if I remember correctly, this issue was resolved positively. Why Kyle is not participating in the blitz, I don't know, but it is his right, as he also has the right to participate in it.
And for your information, is there any point in arguing with each other about this? Maybe we should have a duel? In my opinion, this is also silly. But, still, I don't regret asking such a question.
P.S. I hope I didn't offend you personally. Sincerely, Ley.
"Единственное, что можно сказать с уверенностью об удаче - она изменит..."
So, I don't see any problems with that, except that the PRELIMINARY version should be available the very next day after the official end of the tournament :) This is a matter of honor for the organizers themselves.
Not necessarily. Kyle is not participating in the tournament as a player, and I don't even see the save files. So, if your super save file sits on his computer for an extra day or two, :) nothing bad will happen to it... Or am I misunderstanding the point of your statement?
As you rightly pointed out, I am acting solely as an ordinary player, nothing more.
The fact that I designed the map myself doesn't give me any advantages - any player has the opportunity to study it thoroughly in order to have all the initial information about the map. For example, this is why I left a Pandora's Box with Azure Dragons on the map of the third stage - study it, draw conclusions, develop a strategy for completing it, and finally, achieve the optimal result... I have to fight monsters just like everyone else - I hope no one doubts that... :) IronAxe;94362
I don't rule out that they also want to achieve the best result, but they will only be satisfied if they achieve this goal in a fair way. IMHO.
Dear tournament participants, Your discussion about bugs and features has been moved to the following topic: TOURNAMENTAL MATTERS! I hope you understand.
Also, I would like to remind you that today at 24:00 Moscow time, the submission of save files for the third stage will end. All who have not yet sent their save files – please hurry up.
Sincerely.

I suggest that everyone who wants to download the updated version of the reference guide FizMiG v.1.12.
It will be useful when solving the quest of the fourth stage. The task will primarily focus on logical thinking (with elements of logistics). And you will also need to go through a couple of simple battles to advance the plot. After Galtran, it will be a piece of cake... :)
