Cold Summer
...The midday sun in the middle of summer warmed somewhat weakly, but Alesyor could clearly feel the heat of its rays. He was lying on the roof of a shed and eating the fruits of some fruit tree whose branches hung over the building. Vredun was running around below. Barking at the boy, he tried to jump onto the roof to join Alesyor.
- Don't try it, - the boy told the dog, chewing the sweet same-sized fruits that were about a third of his palm, - you won't make it.
Noticing Yuridyor's approach, the dog calmed down and sat by the shed, waiting for its master. At that moment, a spoiled fruit flew right at his head.
- Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! - Alesyor laughed. - What a hit!
Vredun barked discontentedly, but when Yuridyor approached, he calmed down and wagged his tail.
- Vredun, is this naughty boy bothering you? – he asked, petting the dog on the head. – Hey, do you want to walk around the island, Alesyor? We haven't gone anywhere for a week now.
- I don't want to. Not in the mood. – the boy replied, putting his hands behind his head and continuing to look through the leaves at the blue sky. – And I'm already tired of this undead.
- Aleel told me he saw goblins on the shore.
- Goblins? – Alesyor asked, clearly interested.
- Yes, they probably ended up here by accident from neighboring islands. As usual.
- Heh, they haven't sailed here in a long time. Maybe it is worth going. It's so fun to fight them. They are so amusing.
- Well, then get down and let's go.
- No, no. Wait. I need to lie here a bit longer. You better climb up here with me.
Using the fruit tree, Yuridyor climbed onto the roof of the shed. The wooden roof creaked under his weight. Dropping to his knees, he crawled toward Alesyor and lay down beside him. The latter plucked a fruit and gave it to Yuridyor. They looked into the sky and remained silent for a long time.
- Goblins, - Alesyor spoke up. - That's good. But I would like to fight orcs. They haven't sailed to us in so long.
- Yes, they haven't been here for quite some time. Except for the one who sometimes watches us.
- Yeah. But he seems non-aggressive. And apparently afraid to come close to us. Which is a pity; maybe I would have managed to talk to him. I think I've mastered their language pretty well.
- Learning from books is one thing, but actually speaking is something else entirely.
- Yes, I agree with you.
- Alright, let's go, - Yuridyor said, starting to stand up, after which the roof creaked again and a crack was heard. The roof gave way, and he and Alesyor fell together into the shed.
The boys lay on the floor of the shed laughing loudly, while Vredun ran beside them wagging his tail, apparently laughing too, but in a dog-like way...

KindShaman was walking through the forest, not expecting to get into trouble, but trouble found him anyway. A huge skeleton blocked his path and would not let him pass further.
Someone, as usual, wandered back and forth through the forest, thinking of nothing, but a large orc, rushing out from behind a tree, pounced on him and beat him with a club. After which he successfully vanished.
WishmasteR did not hear someone sneaking up on him. He did not expect an attack. But the killer's plans were not meant to be fulfilled. His path was blocked by a skeleton clad in armor and armed with a sword. They fought for a long time. The skeleton barely reacted to the man's lunges, while the latter seemed to simply be amusing himself, fighting without even using half his strength. And when he grew bored, he sheathed his sword and ran away.
Empty sockets watched someone for a long time. Did they manage to spot anything interesting? Perhaps.
