My friend and I had the same issue. We were on the same subnet, with the same provider. He had a router, and when he turned it off and connected directly, everything worked perfectly, even though it used to work fine with the same router. The conclusion is that he updated the router's firmware, and the subnet became unmanaged. This means that you need to forward addresses to the router to the provider so that they are seen as real IP addresses, not as a single subnet.

I tried to patch it manually - patch 1.2 says that it is already installed, and patch 1.3 requires installing all previous patches. We need to figure this out. What kind of graphics card does your laptop have, what's its clock speed, model, is it integrated or dedicated? Based on my experience, there are often problems with dedicated graphics cards.

Well, you could try updating your video drivers, but it's not guaranteed to help. Integrated graphics cards aren't very suitable for games, and they aren't officially supported either.
