It feels like the clans are dying out or will die out soon. In the fifth installment, for example, only one remains, essentially. If a census of the clans were conducted, the results would be depressing. How many people who are listed as members of a clan are actually active or part of the clan? A similar topic was discussed, but it only touched upon the issue of cleaning up inactive members, and I would like to consider the possible development and clarification of the situation regarding the clans.
I would like to discuss this topic to clarify the situation. Is it necessary to revive/develop them or should we leave everything as it is?
Well, I'm also a bit confused that, for example, in "Hammers of Fate," according to the clan rules, all members are currently considered deserters :D Although, I don't see anything wrong with that. Maybe some people just want to have the symbol of a certain clan in their profile, even if there's no real benefit to it. So, let them display it, what's the harm?
I'm also a bit puzzled that, for example, in "Вершители Асхана," according to the clan rules, all members are currently considered deserters :D Although, I don't see anything wrong with that. Maybe some people just want to have the symbol of a certain clan in their profile, even if there's no real benefit to it. So, let them have it, why not.
But there are also basic clan regulations, such as these:
A registered clan can be disbanded if the HeroesWorld forum has been visited by fewer than 4 members of the clan for 4 months or more. A registered clan can be disbanded if the clan leader and their deputy are absent from the HeroesWorld forum for 2 months or more.
But these rules... could they somehow motivate the clans to be more active?
Is it really all just for the sake of having a clan symbol in the profile :D
Is it all just for the sake of having the clan symbol in your profile?
I don't know. What other benefits are there to joining a clan? Well, there are intra-clan and inter-clan tournaments... But why are open tournaments any worse? So, apart from the symbol, I don't see any serious reasons (if you can even call the latter a serious reason).
I'm certainly no expert in Heroes, but I could suggest that Clans might be useful for the following reasons:
1) More experienced players in a Clan can give optimal advice to beginners, being less stingy with secrets than, say, on a forum.
2) In a Clan, you can set up pairs or small groups for team play. For example, if the map and Factions are known in advance, the players can roughly plan who will go where, why, who they will kill, and how they will build their base before the tournament or whatever you have.
And there are all sorts of minor things, like creating a special atmosphere of communication within the Clan, which in itself can attract some individuals. A ranking system for players who like to compete.
A Clan, as a system, is capable of adapting more successfully and quickly to new features in Heroes (translations of texts released abroad, for example, because things usually take time here) + serving as an indicator of people's involvement in the game.
In general, I don't think the idea of Clans is outdated. All that's needed is a leader who is willing to get involved and set goals for the participants, taking into account their desires and abilities.

1) in a clan, more experienced players can give optimal advice to beginners, being less stingy with secrets than, say, on the same forum.
It's not customary for us to be "stingy with secrets." There is a lot of game information on the forum, and players keep asking questions, while others keep answering them if they can.
2) in a clan, you can arrange pairs or trios for team play; for example, the map and faction data are known in advance, and players before the tournament, or whatever you have, can roughly plan who goes where, why, and for what purpose, who they will kill, and how they will build up.
Well, that's possible... Organizing Heroes games for more than two people can be difficult, but if you gather as a clan, it might actually be easier... Although it's hard for me to judge.
In general, I don't consider the idea of clans obsolete; there would be a leader who isn't burdened by doing this and setting goals for the participants, taking into account their desires and capabilities.
Dyrman said it correctly: on HeroesWorld there is at least one perfectly functioning clan, "Keepers of the Heavenly Gate". ---- Also, the vampires seem to be alive, I think.

Overall, I think the idea of promoting clans is worthwhile in itself. The key is who will be doing it and what methods they will use.
If you don't have such a simple concept as "commercial secret," that's good; it's a positive thing.

In general, I don’t consider the idea of Clans dead; it would just take a leader who doesn’t find it burdensome to handle this and set goals for members, taking their wishes and capabilities into account.
The idea itself isn’t dead. What’s dead is something else — the desire. There’s also turnover and a certain subjectivity, sometimes even a lack of support outside the clan.
But gradually, each person’s subculture simply spreads across the topics of HeroesWorld. Mapmakers constantly discuss various topics among themselves, play other mapmakers’ maps, staying ahead of the crowd, etc. The same goes for chat rooms, for instance, Mafia groups. Figuratively speaking, people gravitate toward a certain circle of individuals without any Clans. BUT! These are “clans” by interests, not by shared ideas. In a normal clan, people can be quite different (a player, a mapmaker, an organizer, a designer, a writer...), while others usually just define boundaries by groups (with one caveat: playing Heroes may be a sufficient basis, since that’s the main idea).

Let’s start with the fact that there are enough players only in the 3rd game.
Really? On HeroesWorld, tournaments are also held for the 5th game. One clan is very well represented. For the rest, at least 2, even from non-cross-platform players, there should be enough.
Rudyy, there are no players.
For the 5th and 4th installments, people from all Heroes forums gather for some tournament, not just one Hv.
I don't know exactly how Kila gathered people for his current tournament, but for a duel tournament in the 4th installment, I gathered people from 4 forums and also contacted them via ICQ. And right now, there are only two players for Hv in the 4th installment.
There are players only in the 3rd installment.

Kila simply has many people who are 5 players. He himself is a fan of this particular version. But the people who participated in his tournament and were not Keepers or did not come from the League of Heroes at all can be counted on the fingers of one hand.

Kila just gathered everyone together. There are players from HL, including himself, but they are all long-time forum users of HW. There are also newcomers. Overall, I feel that there are enough players in the fifth game. There are more in the third, but not by a significant margin.
The idea itself is not outdated. What is outdated is the desire.
I don't think an organization can die out. The game itself is popular, and there are people who enjoy working on it or playing it. In general, we need to create a system that keeps people interested and keeps the Clans in a state of competition (more on this below). Dyrman
But gradually, the subculture of each one is simply scattered across the Heroes forums.
But that's great if it's presented nicely. You can ask map creators to indicate on the map that the map is from your Clan, or to create joint maps with several map creators from the Clan. And then there will be something like competition, which may even encourage other Clans to compete for the quality of maps. Well, this leads to various contests for joint map creation by Clans, and so on. I haven't fully fleshed it out, but the idea is clear.Dyrman
In a normal Clan, people can be very different (player, map creator, organizer, designer, writer...), while others usually simply define a division into groups (there is one caveat: playing Heroes can be a sufficient basis, because this is the main idea).
Yes, that's logical. This can create great synergies. It all comes down to organization again. Here is my subjective vision.

No, Zubr, the situation isn't as bad as you're making it out to be. In "Who's Stronger," there are 28 players, and if you look at their profiles, many of them aren't from your clan. In "Original," you know that half of the players are from our chat group.
