Posts from Current questions and answers regarding the map editor.
is it possible to add new art to the game (i.e., add it, not replace it with a new texture, parameters, etc.), in addition to the existing ones (i.e., the ID itself, 97 and onwards)?
IDs are not added to the game without special tricks, such as editing the executable file. But the game has plenty of scripted artifacts like Frida.
I need some help.
I haven't played HOMM5 for four years, but I decided to let my young daughter play. I wanted to enter codes for her so she could play and wouldn't need to call me for help every minute. As a result, I spent the whole day searching for codes, then patches (and in that time, so many have been released), and then installing a Russian language pack for the editor, which didn't even exist before.
I'm left with one problem – I can't play a single-player map where only the initial settings have been changed (all buildings are built, and the party already has 100 Titans).
When I load the map, the game displays an unknown error and closes.
The map is 356 KB in size, it's in the folder with the other maps, the path is no longer than it was, and it doesn't contain any Cyrillic characters.
What's the problem, and how can I solve it?
I apologize for the "many words," and I hope for your help.
To be honest, I haven't encountered this problem before. Are the maps created for your version of Heroes (meaning they work without any changes)?
By the way, regarding the maps – I downloaded a bunch of games from some Heroes website, intending to experiment with them, but the archive somehow downloaded as corrupted.
So, the maps have the original rules, definitely.
I checked the map, here is the list of errors:
Object and craig intersection: 160:76, ground floor.
Object and craig intersection: 160:77, ground floor.
Object and craig intersection: 160:79, ground floor.
Object and craig intersection: 160:78, ground floor.
Object and craig intersection: 20:107, ground floor.
Object and craig intersection: 126:151, ground floor.
Object and craig intersection: 19:187, ground floor.
But the rules are quite simple...
