Rough draft of the setting for Mafia, proposed time - early to mid-December (I am busy at the end of December...).
Operation "New Year"
...The eve of the most important and anticipated holiday of the year - New Year. Father Frost's gift factory is working at full capacity, as everything must be ready by the holiday. Snowmen are working two shifts so that everyone receives their gifts...
But in every fairy tale, besides good, there is also evil. And this very evil from a competing organization, "Santa Claus's Elves," has set its sights on the gift factory, replacing some of the snowmen from Brigade №12 with their disguised spies, who at night tear the good-natured snowmen into clumps. Now, the fate of the holiday is being decided at the factory...About the game:The action takes place at a New Year's gift factory.
The goal of the
Elves is to remove all evil and peaceful snowmen from the game, thereby stopping the factory's operation.
The goal of each
Evil Snowman is to remain the sole worker at the factory.
The goal of the
Peaceful Snowmen is to get rid of the elves and evil snowmen.
Game Rules:• Nights last about 24 hours. The sooner all night actions reach the Mage Guild, the faster dawn will come. At night, no one has the right to write anything in the game thread at all, even in "deleted posts".
• Day lasts exactly 24 hours. In extremely rare cases, an earlier or later end of the day is possible.
• To vote for someone's execution, you must write in your message: "**execute %username%**". (The method of execution can be invented by yourself - within reasonable limits) - bold font is mandatory. If a player wants to change their vote, they must perform a vote cancellation procedure ("Do not execute %username%"), and only after the cancellation vote for another player (In 1 message, you can vote once and cancel a vote once, or cancel a vote once and vote once). This is for the Mage Guild to make tracking votes easier. If you do not vote in bold font, the vote will not be counted. Also, a vote will not be protected without minimal justification.
• Execution requires only a majority of votes. If a player reaches the "required" number of votes, they will still be hanged only after the end of the day and only if the votes do not change. An execution can occur earlier only if the decision is unanimous.
• If the majority vote "**Do not execute anyone**", then the day ends without executing players.
• All "double votes" are displayed only in the voting results and only if they belong to the majority.
• For the Mafia, decisions on who to kill and who to send on a mission are made collectively. If one of the mafia members is not Online, the other participants can make a decision without them.
• The killer may plant 1 additional clue at the crime scene. It must point to them and be original (i.e., do not leave clues of the "for the extremely observant" variety). As for the complexity of these clues, there is quite a lot of freedom, but the Mage Guild still reserves the right to reject a specific clue, with or without explanation.
• Hints about killers in reports are given based on the user profile (nick, avatar, signature, etc.). If the murder was unsuccessful, the killer will find out, but not why it was unsuccessful. No hints are given for failed murders, except those declared by the killer themselves. Also, reports contain a hint about the role of the deceased.
• During the game, changing your nick, avatar, signature, and personal information is
strictly forbidden. Therefore, update your profile in advance.
• Discussing the game outside this thread (i.e., in DMs, ICQ, etc.) is allowed only if you have a role that permits it.
• As soon as the news of your death/execution has been written, you are gone. You no longer participate in the game. Stop writing. However, nothing forbids you from watching what happens.
• Do not edit your messages. Try to write without mistakes right away.
• Modkill (in rare cases - replacement) is performed:
- In case of a gross violation of the rules or a repeated minor violation.
- For being offline for two days without notifying the Mage Guild
- May be performed at the player's request in case of any circumstances under which the player cannot actively participate in the game.
• If you have the right to perform a night action – do it before the end of the night phase and the start of the day phase (send NA to me via ICQ). I will not wait. If you didn't make it – alas...
• From time to time, I will post the tally of all votes for the current game day. Of course, this is important. For me and for you. Players are also allowed to keep a tally.
• If you have questions regarding the rules or if something is unclear, please contact me via ICQ.
• It is forbidden to directly reveal your own role or the role of another player (if you know another player's role, do not shout it everywhere... You must be smarter, craftier...). This action will lead to immediate disqualification.
• First night immunity (impossibility of killing a person possessing it on the first night of the game) is given to the following participants:
- Those killed on the first night in the previous game.
- The moderator of the previous game.
- Newcomers (players playing "Mafia" on our forum for the first time).
• Those not participating in Mafia are forbidden from commenting on events until the end of the game. Well... at least do not comment in this thread.
• The "Mafia" has one opportunity to commit a murder per night.
• An eliminated player whose role is hidden remains silent about the game until the end. They have no right to write on the forum or to anyone in DMs about their role. Likewise, remaining participants have no right to write to them about what role they possess. All discussions of roles are possible only between eliminated participants.
• And most importantly... it's a game, after all. The main thing is that you have fun.
