Yes... I don't remember if you or someone else in the music thread called their music "Dumb banging." Just so you know, this "Dumb banging" is much harder to play...
although they are quite cool musicians, I don't argue.
Yes... For example, Joey Jordison was awarded the title of "Best Drummer of the Year" (now he is recognized as the second best).
Rammstein doesn't even come close. But there is a band many times cooler than both of them combined, and even squared.
Who? Aria? I wouldn't say so.
they have awesome music.
To each his own, but you can express yourself in other ways.
I think they play disharmoniously and incorrectly.
Well, no matter what, you won't understand that this is the whole point))) eXeCuToR;196394
Even Rammstein can't compare.
They play different things... Rammstein is generally a bad example; they aren't even a standard for their style...
For Slipknot fans! I can recommend the band "Meshuggah", which plays at the same level, and in some ways even heavier than Slipknot... Their style is Progressive / Thrash / Math Metal (but only the later one). Although, you might not like the style; it's very extreme, but it won't hurt to know about it for general development... Revan;196403
Yes... I don't remember if it was you or someone else in the music thread who called their music "Stupid banging." Just so you know, this "Stupid banging" is much harder to play...
Still, you need to call Hardcore, Hardcore... Because I can also call speed metal (death metal) just "scratching" on the guitar...
Slipknot... What can be said about this band? Nine guys who turned modern metal upside down? Winners of numerous awards and millions of album sales? A band that raised live performances in the heavy music genre to a new level? Celebrated heroes of the current nu-metal style? You can go on and on, and you'll still forget something - the band's role in modern music is difficult to overestimate.
A1 (The first alternative music TV channel) about Slipknot
Yes, I probably called that music that way =Ъ Who told you that it's harder to play? They do play the drums fast, that's true. But it's much harder to play unmelodically than melodically, and I say this as an experienced guitarist. He may have been recognized, but those who play the drums (I'm not one of them and can't name any names) give a lot of examples of drummers who are much better than Jordison. Why immediately Aria? I wasn't just talking about them. But yes, Aria plays much better. I watched video lessons of Vladimir Holstinin (Aria), who, no matter what they say, is a very cool guitarist, and Mika Thomson. Holstinin plays better. Although, of course, these videos are probably not the limit for these musicians, but the technique is quite good. So, Holstinin has much better technique; Thomson's right hand certainly works very hard, very, very hard, I must admit, but he's far from the leading guitarists. Yes, I could have expressed myself differently, but I was just in a terrible mood at that moment, which was made worse when I read about how this band treats its fans, which you, by the way, forgot to mention in your post. Of course, I apologize; I should have been more polite, but how else should I call the music of a band that treats its fans like that, especially since they are not that great or talented. Maybe they'll start calling all metalheads crap, and their fans will be called maggots who dig in that crap? Do I make myself clear why I expressed myself that way? (I'm still in a bad mood). 2 kj1313 I've listened to all sorts of music and don't understand what the fuss is about with this "thumping" sound. In my opinion, there's just nothing there. Although, I won't deny that if I dig into Slipknot, I might find a couple of decent songs. Regarding Rammstein, I could have made it clear that I was talking about the musicians' skill level, not the styles. Slipknot doesn't play very heavily. Especially after you listen to grind/core or pure death metal. Speed, death - what? Not everyone can play like that; besides, there is definitely some melody there, although death metal also thumps a lot.
Step aside from the way of a better man than you So you fall at his feet hes the one who betrays you Its the servants devotion for the decay Stand up
The funny thing is, you can easily replace a drummer with the appropriate device and not lose any quality, so it's not a significant factor. It just means one fewer person consuming alcohol on the tour bus.
Speed, death – who’s better? Not everyone can be that good.
The same can be said about Slipknot: not everyone can perform such “noise.”
I’ve listened to all sorts of music and I don’t understand what the appeal of noise is. In my opinion, there isn’t any.
Well... it’s not just a random collection of sounds. I don’t think you’d deny that. In general, listen to it more, maybe you’ll understand.
My dad always says about Slipknot, “There are a lot of bands like them...” and I think he’s wrong. He doesn’t give me any examples. In that case, I can say the same about Depeche Mode and everything else he listens to. Slipknot is unique... although, I guess no band is truly irreplaceable. Although, you could say that AC/DC is just a Russian copy of Iron Maiden, with all the music stolen.
Interesting facts:
- Slipknot made their own masks. - The straps and leather belts are made by a friend of the band. - Chris’s nose is 18 cm long. - Corey’s dreadlocks are made from his real hair. He was too lazy to put his hair in the mask before each concert, so he cut it off and attached it to the mask. - Joey cut pieces of skin from his arms and legs to make it easier to play the drums. - Jim has 2 masks. The first one was given to him by the previous guitarist (the old leather mask covering the face can be seen in photos from the MFKR era and on the album cover). He wore it until he made a mask that suited his personality better (the jester mask). - The barcode on their jumpsuits and the people = shit logo are all real barcodes from the Mate Feed Kill Repeat album. - The barcode 742617000027 is an encrypted name of the album, i.e., Slipknot. - At a performance in England, #0 jumped off the stage and fell on a fan. He injured a young woman so badly that she had to be hospitalized. Fortunately, she is now doing well and is alive and well. - At another performance, Sid, while setting the drums on fire, accidentally hit Chris, fell, and sparks burned his leg. - Shawn has a wife and three children... one of whom draws devils (is a musical dynasty continuing?). - Shawn was a welder and welded his own drums (titanium drums). - Mick played guitar for 16 years before joining Slipknot, and he says he is a natural “Shredder.” - The process of writing music for the band Slipknot: Mick, Jim, Joey, and Paul work on the structure of the music. Then some percussion is added. In many songs, you need to mix the riffs and the DJ’s work (like in Spit it Out). The song Eyeless was written like this: Sid started doing something, and at that time Mick just started playing on the guitar. Soon the song was written (this technique is used in concerts. First, Sid’s solo, which smoothly transitions into Eyeless). When the music is finished, Corey works on the lyrics. - Album sales for Slipknot totaled over 40,000 copies in the first week after release. - James is taller than Mick! James is 198 cm, Mick is 186. - Corey had to work in a porn shop to have some money. - Corey carved the word SLAYER on his arm when he was 14, before a Slayer concert. - It is said that Corey checks his mail, although in reality, the band’s mailboxes are full and it is practically impossible to send them a letter. - Slipknot is the first band/album to go platinum in the history of Roadrunner Records. - Shawn was the first to come up with the masks. - Sid has more than 9 gas masks. - Craig #5 is the admin of the slipknot1.com website. - Mick gave guitar lessons at Ye old guitar shop in Iowa to have money. - Craig’s nickname is 133, and it has an interesting story. 133 (Craig’s nickname) multiplied by 5 (his number) plus 1 (his persona) equals 666. - Corey got a tattoo of the Japanese hieroglyph “death” on the back of his neck and a tattoo of “father” on the other side. He did this because he didn’t know his father. He also has a tattoo of a number on his neck. - Mick and Shawn got tattoos in 2000 on the Tattoo the Earth Tour. - Slipknot recorded for the “Tales from the Crypt” series. - At one of Slipknot’s concerts in England, about 100 people sought the help of the “Ambulance” service. - In 2006, the band won a Grammy in the category of “Best Metal Performance” with the song Before I Forget. - In 2008, at the beginning of the US tour, Sid #0 injured his head, and then at a concert he broke his legs by jumping unsuccessfully from the stage, but even this did not stop him, and he continued to go on stage in a wheelchair, which did not prevent him from creating crazy things on stage.
That's why I suggest you listen to them more :) at first, many people don't like them :)
I downloaded it and listened – it's not quite what I expected... :( I thought it would actually be different from their previous albums. It's too monotonous – I don't like that. I need something beautiful. By the way, have you heard Bullet for My Valentine? Now that's music – those guys are virtuosos. It's not quite metalcore, though. I recommend them, especially the album Poison (2005). ;)
I've listened to all sorts of music and I don't understand what the appeal of "bangin'" music is. In my opinion, it's simply not there. Although, I won't deny that if I dig into Slipknot, I might find a couple of decent songs.
It's clear that you haven't really listened to hardcore, and the "thing" is the driving rhythm... eXeCuToR;196601
Regarding Rammstein, I could have understood that I was talking about the musicians' skill level, not the styles.
Okay, I understand, and besides, Rammstein's level is lower... eXeCuToR;196601
Slipknot doesn't play very heavy. Especially after you listen to grind/core or pure death.
Well, there's a different kind of heaviness there, and in general, don't even mention those styles, grind/core is a complete degradation of rock, and death isn't far behind either. These styles were created to initially irritate nerves and shred ears, basically for aesthetes)))

Downloaded it, listened to it - it's not the same... :( I thought it would really be different from their previous albums. It's too monotonous - I don't like that. I need it to be beautiful. By the way, have you heard Bullet for My Valentine? That's where the music is - these guys are virtuosos. True, it's not pure metalcore. I recommend it, especially the album Poison (2005). ;)
Yes, it's good metalcore, but I like Mudvayne more...
Yeah, that's some good metalcore, but I like MuDvAyNe more...
Did you know that Sean Crahan produced MuDvAyNe's first album? (He's the percussionist for Slipknot.) :)
Exz, whatever you think, Slipknot respects their fans (and they call everyone "shit," by the way, including themselves)...
And here's some more about conflicts:
Limp Bizkit
Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit got into a conflict with Slipknot after Corey heard from his friends that Durst had described Slipknot's fans as "fat, ugly kids" in an interview with Spin magazine.
Sean Crahan, Slipknot's percussionist, threatened Fred Durst that if he criticized their fans again, he would regret it, and Corey later said in an interview with MuchMusic that Durst was a great businessman but not a musician. In 2001, Fred Durst created a post on Limp Bizkit's official website in which he disputed his attitude towards Slipknot: "We really love Slipknot, and we're glad they hate us, because it makes their music heavier, angrier, and cooler!!"
Some time later, Fred Durst, describing Slipknot's third studio album, said that this album was "absolutely the best metal album ever released."
And this is just crazy! Slipknot are tough guys!:D
When Slipknot came to Cleveland (Mushroomhead's hometown) for a concert, they were given a "warm" welcome. Someone in the audience threw a 9-volt battery onto the stage, which hit Paul Gray in the forehead. And the audience started chanting "Mushroomhead!" Corey Taylor, Mick Thomson, and one of the technicians came down from the stage and started a fight (for which Mick and the technician ended up in jail).
:D I literally heard this MuDvAyNe for the first time 15 minutes before I read your message for the first time; but I wouldn't say that their music is more beautiful and complex than BFMV's. But it's worth listening to:) That's good, because I already know all my music by heart...
If you can, please send me a link (but in a private message - it's not allowed here) where I can download a couple of their soulful albums.
but I wouldn't say their music is more beautiful or complex than BFMV's.
It reminded me of something right away. Before I Forget... Something about this song:
Before I Forget is actually a new, reworked version of an old Slipknot song, Carve from 1997. The squealing at the end of the song is Morse code for the word Slipknot. Also, if you play this part of the song backwards, you can hear Corey Taylor repeating "You're wasting it."
Did you know that Sean Crahan (Slipknot's percussionist) produced MuDvAyNe's first album? :)
I knew, they actually became friends.

These guys deserve respect, at least for that.)))

Well, I listen to them for their aggression, and whether it's more complex or not is debatable, but both are masters of the "Metalcore" genre.
The song 20-Eeyore is from 1999; it's more like Heavy Metal than Nu Metal :D :D :D :D (Lock, it's spelled Nu, because in English it's Nu and not New). I can't upload anything right now...
