I suggest we discuss the Nu-Metal band Slipknot (from English, Slipknot - "Noose") in this thread.
Personally, this is my favorite band (well, Disturbed is also one of my favorite bands, but Slipknot is... something completely different; they have their own genre, their own style, and there are no others like them :rolleyes:).

I used to listen to them...
but unfortunately, Slipknot has become so mainstream that I'm embarrassed to listen to them.

listened to it a couple of times - I don't like it.

Maggot is a term that Joey came up with while watching a crowd of 1000 fans at a concert. They reminded him of bugs, larvae. They squirm, thrash around, and resemble a pile of maggots in some pile of crap....

To feel like a maggot, you need:
1. To love Slipknot's music.
2. To respect their style.
3. To have a basic knowledge of the band's lineup.
4. To strive for independence.
5. To want to be called a Maggot.

I downloaded it the same day it was released on Slipknot's website :).
Honestly, at first, I didn't like the album... but then I listened to it and realized it's great! It's different from their previous work... You can feel the uniqueness.
Almost every song is at least five minutes long :).

That's why I recommend listening to it more :) at first, it doesn't appeal to many people :)

I downloaded it a month ago (not from the official website, though). I have a lot of great bands, and one band has a song that's 13 minutes long (and I'm not even mentioning that the whole album is one big, awesome composition).

The main thing is that the same words don't sound constantly, like in pop music.
