Oh well, it seems like it's not working. Now there's just a black screen. Damn, it's so hard to figure all this out. I don't even know what to think.

In the text xdb file for the image, do you have dds in the second line, like in the screenshot?

Yes, it's the same black screen.
Please provide a screenshot of the map files and the xdb file itself. Also, check the path to this xdb file within the map. Is the name the same?

I didn't change the name of your texture, so everything should work.

Scout, I simply resaved your image as a DDS file and inserted it into my map, and in the game, everything displayed correctly. I'm attaching the files. You might need to change the file names to match yours.

Well, thanks to everyone for the help and advice. Nothing works, though. Sorry for the late reply. I tried different ways to implement the image: I changed the parameters in the editor, changed the image format, changed the names, Moonstar tried to help with the strings, Jack sent ready-made files, and I put them in the folder with the changed names, but the result is always the same: either a black screen or a distorted image. Thanks again to everyone. I don't want to do this anymore; I'm tired. Sorry for wasting your time.

That won't work.

I'm attaching the text xdb file to the texture I created. I hope you have the text file xdb for the map (the map itself), the dds texture (the image), and the text xdb file for the image in the same folder (attached below). If not, put the texture and the text file in the map folder, as shown in the screenshot. Check the path against the screenshot. Everything should work. Just in case, remove mods and maps from UserMODs and UserCampaigns and Maps.

maybe I'll just take a backup of the map where I haven't started making the loading screen yet, and follow the instructions to do it? I have 10+ maps here, and the maps are cluttered with files.

I checked the path in map.xdb, and everything matches.

Just put the two files (that I sent) into the map folder and check the path to the text xdb in the map. Everything should work.

Scout, try to create the icon step by step, as described in this topic. That's how I made mine, and I had no problems with them.

Besides, esteemed Jack_of_shadows has already attached a ready-made version here. You open the map, upload the files to its resources for replacement, and then click Close in the editor so that the map is packed and the resource changes are saved. After that, you can test it in the game.

In general, I don't know why, but the loading screen started working. I just had a problem where I checked absolutely everything: the image format, file properties, the path in map.xdb, etc.; but for some reason, whenever I entered the game/editor, the files with the image and the texture file were simply deleted from the map folder, which resulted in a black screen. Only the default texture file remained, and its settings were messed up. But after I clicked **close** in the editor instead of **save**, everything started working.

Thank you very much for your help and for trying to explain how and what to do. Thank you for spending time on me. I am very grateful to you, Azgalor, Mооnst@r, Jack_of_shadows. Thank you again! Without you, I wouldn't have been able to do anything.

...but for some reason, whenever you enter the game/editor, the image file and the texture file would simply be deleted from the map folder, resulting in a black screen. Only the default texture file remained, with its settings reset. However, after I clicked **close** instead of **save** in the editor, everything started working.
Apparently, it was due to the makeshift method. It's still better to do it properly, using the editor.

Hello everyone! I have a problem related to applying a texture to a model. When I try to specify the path to the texture in SrcName, the program doesn't remember my choice. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Perhaps the path should be entered into DestName, and SrcName can be left blank?
