Posts from The Quest for Truth
A strange side quest. I didn't have anything like that; I only had the option to attack the mage in the dungeon and close the portal. It seems something broke in the script, and nothing was triggered.
The mages didn't leave the castle at all after the orc appeared, and then the orc took over the mages' eastern-southern castle and stayed there for the entire game. Somewhere around the 3-month mark, everything just stopped.
Сценарии:
"Холм мертвецов"
"Священное древо"
If an Orc spawned in the third mission, then the script from the second mission didn't break, but worked as intended. Was there a battle with a demon when closing the portal?
The campaign has been updated to version 1.1:
- the "Wall of Swords" spell is now prohibited in all missions
- the "Teleport" spell has been added to Marcel's starting skills, consistent with his specialization
- the boss in mission 1 has been strengthened
- the behavior and army of the demon hero in mission 2 have been corrected
- the AI heroes in missions 3, 4, and 5 have been strengthened
- the Elrath Avatar has been significantly strengthened
- some texts have been corrected
- Sandro's specialization icon now displays correctly in battle
Many of these changes were made based on Nixon's playthrough of the campaign on YouTube, and I would like to thank him for that.

And so, I finished this Campaign. The last two missions really stood out, namely Sandro and the Vampire mission. What can I say? It feels like they squeezed every last drop out of Heroes 5 and created a great Campaign without glitches, without tedious gameplay, and without a drawn-out plot. Minimalistic, but really beautiful locations, especially those "heavens" like in Heroes 6, and the storyline about the coolest character in the series - Sandro - is, for me, perhaps the biggest plus. I haven't played many full Campaigns, and before this, I considered MasteR's Campaigns to be the best, but now there's a new favorite. I played all day from morning, I was emotionally drained, it was just so awesome. In my opinion, Sandro deserves such storylines; he is the only one who saw the essence of things, and it's such a pity that he was killed off in the plot without any explanation. Fortunately, such Campaigns shed light on things, albeit through the lens of the author's understanding. The only thing I didn't understand was three things: what was that booklet in the last mission "Part 1: 81," why did Mythgard have a special aura if Sandro was going to die anyway, and who was the mage who saved the paladin at the end? Especially about the mage, because it looked quite funny and like a cliché. I can't fault anything else; I liked everything, definitely 10 out of 10. Heroes is worth playing only to Download this Campaign and play it later.

The additional quest with the sacrifice appears if you kill the mage in the dungeon, if I remember correctly.
I didn't get any additional quest. But once all the bugs and AI behavior are fixed, I'll gladly replay it.
(And I would weaken the spirits in the 5th mission; it's quite annoying to kill them to save the entire army; you want to get to the boss and the ending, but you run around the islands for half an hour trying to defeat them)

And I'll add one more thing. In the "secret mission" for the vampire, the Shantiir crystal is very overpowered. If you place skeleton archers in a corner and the crystal diagonally in front of them, most of the 2x2 units won't attack the crystal; they'll just get stuck. I was only able to complete the mission without too much trouble thanks to this; in my opinion, it's the most difficult mission in all the Campaigns...

Damn, I'll add one last thing. If the Campaign is too difficult for you, go through the blinding vampires, darkness, mass acceleration in the attack branch, and use dark energy to only eliminate vampires. 300-400 of them can destroy legions solo. I played on Hero difficulty and didn't encounter any difficulties except at the very beginning of the missions.

There was no battle with a demon. I went into the dungeon after I had defeated everyone I could, except for the last orcish castle. I really liked the "eclipse" color filter. There's a mage standing there, I kill him, and I approach the portal, nothing happens, the quest is completed, not even any audio tracks are played, let alone a cutscene. I thought that's how it should be; the "red" light filter turned off.
Only eliminate vampires. 300-400 of them can destroy legions on their own.
I completed it without any modifications or patches from the author.
Regarding the modifications: I used the Wall of Swords only once during the game (against fire elementals – I remember 3 stacks of them appearing – and the summon was applied to the entire team without exception).
The other enhancements, etc., are not as important, except for the Incarnation of Elrath – you were wrong to include it ((the trick is that by the time you get to it, years will have passed, and mountains of your troops will have died
)). I fought it with a makeshift army.Regarding the game: I didn't understand what those two "bums" were doing in the last mission, hanging around in front of the garrison to Elrath (Mirael with one inquisitor and Vantash with random units from the 6th level and dragons)!? I took them out without a second thought and moved on... there were no cutscenes or dialogues. I also didn't understand the number puzzle (screenshot). In the Easter egg, it would be nice to add either a mine or a garrison... the fort on the hill is located at the very end, before the finale, and the troops are a mishmash (they fall under the Dark faction)... I didn't know who to dismiss and who would appear further along the path. So, all the skeleton archers, liches, and zombies were dismissed ((purely random). I was worried about Saahir (I thought he would be used later somehow
)).P.S. In essence, we got a very decent campaign with 6 (six) missions.
The main thing in the game turned out to be not the Darkness (I almost didn't use control – mark, dispel, slow down, and the summon carried me through the whole game – phantoms are everything here).
Thank you for the game!
You're getting a bit carried away... they might be able to, but there are battles in the Campaigns where they would be completely wiped out. The Archangels, with their Divine Retribution ability, will send them flying into the clouds while the vampires take care of the rest. In my opinion, the most useful unit in the game is the Mummy... I carried around almost a dozen of them for most of the game. They were very helpful in preventing me from losing troops.
The God unit isn't that scary. You just stand there and resurrect vampires with Liches + Mummies + the hero, until their maximum HP is less than 20, and even better, bring it down to 1, and then any attack on any unit will fully heal the vampires. (And you can also just kill the Angels first, haha).
I disagree about the Elrath's Avatar. In the last mission, I just one-shotted it with vampires. I had so many of them there. But I'm just a hardcore player; every battle is a new week of Dark Energy.
Also, I agree about the voice acting. I think I heard that there are 3 people helping with the voice acting, but even if the author wants to update the voice acting, it will take another month, or even longer.

We have a club with the motto "all mapmakers should create voiceovers using a bot."
We have a club with the motto "invite all the guys from the neighborhood to do amateur voice acting."
But I'll say that voice acting isn't needed at all, because both options are far from ideal, and without perfection, you'll always remember some Markel from the original or cringe at small but noticeable flaws. Perfection is quite achievable, but the artists need to be paid upfront!)
Can you recommend some local "voice acting masters"? I'd like to see their price list.
As I understand it, there's no way to put text into a spoiler here, so I'm writing with spoilers.
So, I've finished this campaign. The last 2 missions—Sandro and the vampire—really stood out. And I'll add one more thing. In the "secret mission" as the vampire, the Shantiri Crystal is very OP. If you place skeleton archers in the corner and put the crystal diagonally in front of them, most 2x2 units don't attack the crystal and just freeze. Only thanks to this was I able to pass the mission without much trouble; in my opinion, it's the hardest mission in the whole campaign...

I really liked the "eclipse" color filter. There's a mage there, I smacked him, and went to the portal; nothing happened, the quest was counted, no audio track started, and certainly no movie. Well... phew... finished the campaign. To say I enjoyed it would be an understatement (two days on the couch with beer just vanished from my life). Damn, I haven't played anything like this in a long time... if not for the voice acting, I'd call it a masterpiece. A year and a half was clearly not spent in vain—this work will take its place in the collection of true connoisseurs of the game.
Finished it without the author's edits/patch.
Regarding the edits: I used the Wall of Swords only once during the game (on fire elementals (as I remember—3 stacks crawled out)—and the summon was available to the entire team without exception.
Other buffs etc. aren't that important except for Elrath's Incarnation—you messed up there (( (the thing is that by the time you reach him, years will pass and mountains of your troops' corpses will pile up)) I fought him with an army on its last legs.
About the game: I didn't understand who the two bums hanging out in front of the garrison to Elrath in the last mission were (Mirael with one inquisitor and Vantash with random units from 6 and dragons)!? I wiped them out without looking and moved on... there were no movies/conversations. Also didn't understand the riddle with the numbers (screenshot). In the easter egg, it would be desirable to add either a mine or a garrison... the fort on the hill is at the very end before the finale, and the troops are a complete mishmash (falls to the dark side)... didn't know who to dismiss and who would be encountered further along the way. So all skeleton shooters, liches, and zombies were dismissed (( pure random. I was worried about Saahir (thought he would be involved somehow later).
P.S. essentially we got a Very decent campaign with 6 (six) missions.
The main thing in the game turned out not to be darkness (hardly used control—mark, dispel, slow), but the summon carried the whole game—phantoms are everything here.
Thanks for the game!
