New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?
It was more of a suggestion than a request, but that's okay.
I think it was the esteemed comrade Lokken! :smile13:
In this case, esteemed Psatkha, I cannot claim any credit.

Updated the topic header.
Added a screenshot of the sea elf model.
Also added a new screenshot of the black guards, from the editor.
The helmet of the elite black guard was reworked.
I think, should both black guards have a "mirror" animation, or should we leave at least one of them as a left-handed character?

As a left-handed person, I demand that everyone be made left-handed, even the Kraken! :D

Small update.
Using textures from Heroes 6, I created a new "marker" for neutral creatures on the global map.
The outer and inner parts of the figure rotate in different directions.
I really didn't like the original neutral marker from Heroes 5.
By the way, I'm interested in your opinion: should replacing the symbols of neutral creatures be part of the main mod with these new creatures, or should it be made into a separate file that can be installed as desired?
If anyone knows about this and has encountered a similar problem, I would be grateful for advice. I wouldn't want to forcibly reduce the resolution of the model textures.
They do exist. And there will be a conflict. I'm changing the skirt by adding new paths in the root file in the game mechanics/RPG. So, the skirt won't work separately. I'm adding it to the file because I was already changing it; I had to add new creatures there so that they could be used to raise undead. And by the way, I also got a kraken to work as a security guard at the "Sunken Temple" LLC. When you pass by in the game, you can wave to it with a tentacle or something.

There's a problem here.
Textures from Heroes 7 often flicker in Heroes 5.
This problem is relatively visible on the shoulder pads of the lizard from the first post.
The closer the model is to the camera, the less noticeable the flickering, and vice versa.
The severity of the problem varies from "basically okay" to "it hurts my eyes" depending on the detail of the model's texture. For example, it's painful to look at the Shantiir Titans from any distance.
My guess is that this is happening because the textures are too "sharp" and detailed for the engine of Heroes 5.
If you reduce the texture size and blur it, the flickering disappears.
But this significantly reduces the detail of the model, and overall it looks much worse than it could.
Maybe I'm entering something wrong in the DDS export settings?
My settings look like this.
If anyone knows about this and has encountered a similar problem, I would appreciate any advice. I wouldn't want to forcibly reduce the resolution of the model textures.
