and I also see a lot of micromanagement, which isn't exactly a good thing.
When there are >5 planets, they will force you to introduce sectors, and the sectors will be self-governing.
True, their self-governance isn't perfect; sometimes you have to temporarily remove individual planets from the sector and do something in them (improve the administration building, for example), but overall, the AI handles it.
I hope this game doesn't have rebellions.

So, if you know that someone doesn't share your ethical views, just commit genocide against them.
genocide individual attempts
It won't work like that in 1.5. Now you can't commit genocide against individual species; you can only commit genocide against an entire species.
Moreover, genocide is now only available to xenophobes and the Hive Mind, although you can still displace species even as an authoritarian empire.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
But overall, in my opinion, this is a step backward.
A controversial limitation (like all the others regarding ethics).
Although it still falls short of egalitarianism, which is incapable of granting equal rights to AI (because this is now unique to materialists).
Since religious people believe that cursed synthetics don't have a soul.
That's also a questionable limitation.
