It won't work like that in 1.5. Now you can't commit genocide against individual species; you can only commit genocide against an entire species.

I gave myself away by admitting that I didn't actually commit genocide against anyone, I just act tough online. But overall, in my opinion, this is a step backward.

Moreover, genocide is now only available to xenophobes and the Hive Mind, although you can still displace species even as an authoritarian empire.

A debatable restriction (like all the others regarding ethics), but not without merit (like all the others).
