New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?
There is no limit to perfection) Now that's what I call taking care of one's creation, a map that's been around for 5 years, and updates are still being released 😁
but shhh)
I completed it on Veteran difficulty, but not on the first try. It didn't go well at the beginning. I started over, and in a rather unsavory way, I replayed the battle until I got regeneration. Then, with one Jarl, I started maneuvering to take advantage of the regeneration. My complaints are the lack of a road from the first Castle and, of course, the WELLS. The map is already not easy at the start (although I'm not very good at playing as Dwarves), so why be stingy with the well? I was extremely lucky with Jessica; on the second attempt, I quickly took out the border Castle, and at first, I didn't know whether to be happy or worried. The main hero was so tempting with аж 4 Jarls – he looked very appetizing to this wench (she was probably wandering around nearby). I chased after Kolger without any trained knight wedges, and he had light and summoning, plus some defense. He defended himself, took the Castle, and then it was just a matter of time before one hero (thankfully, there were two of them) emerged and pathetically wandered around with a couple of angels – the computer is being controlled, and it's not accumulating strength. And the second one calmly finished it off with the Necromancer. Vitya didn't take the second Castle right away – that would be too much for 4 Jarls (even if they changed their orientation). I completed it, and thankfully, everything about the endings is described in detail. I beat the Passion's Victim with 50 Jarls (well, to be more precise, they didn't even touch him – he was very vengeful), and I kept Markel's skull – that's what I needed. I didn't understand what was going on with the Necromancer in the basement – I didn't encounter him. It's very useful to beat Zoltan – he has extremely attractive "Necromancer loot." Everything works perfectly; I didn't even realize that you could put so much effort into a Castle in Heroes (it's atmospheric), and after the redesign, I'm seeing for the first time that some buildings have been implemented. And the long-standing "Technical Support" for the map is something out of a fairy tale. Thank you.
Wow, what an interesting walkthrough. And I don't remember any previous cases of rushing the blue player when their situation was deteriorating faster than the green player's!
, so I surrendered and started again as a warrior. Now, I cleared everything I could first and killed the Necromancer holed up in the dwarf city (losing almost my entire army in the process because he constantly casts berserk on my warriors and they simply slaughtered each other, and dispel magic doesn't work on berserker), then I hunkered down in my own town to build up an army for the battle against the humans. I then found that all the ordinary mobs guarding ores, artifacts, etc., have multiplied into legions and are now practically impossible to kill, and Kirdan now has a legion-sized army, and I have no idea how to defeat him
I really liked the map, although the plot is a bit convoluted, especially the fact that Angelika turned the poor king into some kind of hydrocephalic, drooling on the ground. As I understand it, she did this with magic, because, well, there can't be such idiots who would sell their people for a woman, but anyway - the dialogues between the two brothers were really enjoyable, especially the one about the mammoth - I burst out laughing. And there are tons of such funny moments.
When I first downloaded it and saw Hangwul's model, I had flashbacks to Alaric, but, as you said, you probably installed a mod to speed things up, and he runs at a more or less decent pace.
Capturing the Eastern Dwarven Castle without killing the Necromancer was a terrible mistake. As a result, the poor Necromancer was besieged by humans, and the main character was besieged by the undead (who, however, didn't attack the castle), but the prostitute, Frida, was a real pain. Every week she came with 50 horses, and it's not clear what to do with them. I decided to wait out her attacks in the castle, destroying her catapult with deadly cold. But she just wiped out my entire army with divine retribution, it was a disaster. And if anyone remained, they were usually weak shieldbearers who were killed by a couple of angels (which she raised with RESURRECTION).
In short, I sweated a lot, and I wasted my time leveling up through Chaos - despite the fact that there are an indecent number of planetariums scattered around the map, I still should have focused on the first Temple of Magic, which gives the Crusader. Light is much more useful in the campaign. And they also gave this Frida some kind of Chaos debuff, and it was already difficult with her...
After somehow fending off this old woman's attacks for 5-6 sieges, I killed the Necromancer in the open field with Hangwul, and then it was easy to hold the front.
I liked the interactivity on the map, but I'll point out a few drawbacks.
1) Some kind of protection against idiots like me, so that they don't rush to capture the Eastern Castle before killing the Necromancer.
2) I would still add at least one independent building for the Mummies. I couldn't even add them through the console after clearing the Dwarven Castle, so I had to cheat in some units through the console to see what Arcat's Hammer is.
3) Arcat's Hammer, in my opinion, is weak. I would rework it, because its bonus to morale is overshadowed by the overpowered Clover from Shi'o, and the 10 attack is overshadowed by a set of archers.
4) The Gigaboss Lich is much weaker than the Necromancer who guards him. I would add some stats to him. At least increase his defense, because any unit just tears him apart, dealing 3-5k damage per hit. He died in the first round, although the Necromancer who guards him destroyed 70% of my army.
5) At the very beginning, instead of fighting Godric, you can just run to the castle, replenish your armies a little, and easily punish Godric. https://imgur.com/a/KW5wE2w
Otherwise, the scenario is top-notch, especially the ending, where the two brothers just die. I really enjoyed it, and I'll try to complete the next two maps soon.
(I played as the Hero, as I do with all the maps in general. At the end, I leveled up the Gigachad in Light, Darkness, Defense, Attack, and Movement through the Mentor, and he just destroys everything with auto-attack without any losses.)
Amazing. Many couldn't find the two endings and ended up with the one where the dwarves get ambushed. And I, for the life of me, wouldn't have found the ambush ending, because I immediately captured the human castle while making my own noises.
>but I won't indulge in such things in my maps anymore
Oh, and that's a shame, in my opinion, it's a very good feature, but if I were a mapmaker, I would immediately put a hint on the entire screen after ending A, on how to achieve endings B and C, well, that is, "To avoid the ambush, capture the human castle in advance," or something like that.
>Arantir is waiting for you... as are the other two endings of the Plate
Yes, I'll play as Arantir soon, I love playing as undead. And originally, I ended up with these two endings. The ambush ending was quite surprising.
