They offer a bunch of events.
The meta, as well as the gameplay of many classes, has improved, but this is due to the rotation itself. I can only praise them for finally gathering the courage and imagination after two years (lol) to start creating at least some interesting mechanics.
Overall, I don't care about the high prices because I'm a veteran player, I have a large collection, and I'm also a minimalist, so I don't spread myself thin across a million expensive decks. But the way they are increasingly and more aggressively milking the player base is obvious. I can only sympathize with the F2P newbies without savings and a collection – I feel that starting in 2018 is not as easy as it used to be. But I won't.
However, there is definitely a negative aspect with this expansion – some classes are completely useless for two months because the developers decided so, and then they "fix" it and artificially buff them, so the old favorites fall to the bottom, and everyone rushes to invest in the new ones. This is a completely cancerous design.
The most important thing:
I got a pretty good haul. It could have been better, but it's definitely not as bad as it was with the previous expansion, when I only got two legendaries from 60 packs. I got a lot of good gold, and even a mega-value animated husband-craft. I have a decent number of vials to start with (I'll check for more in the animations), which will be enough for now. Almost all the legendaries I'm missing are from the previous expansion; ideally, I need three or four full sets from there. From earlier expansions, maybe Yorm and Corpse Lord, and perhaps a full set of Snow Queen. But those are things I can live without, and practice has shown that even if I don't have a full set of vials yet, the deck is still quite competitive with just two copies. Thanks, Suckergames, for making it so that out of their 100,500 legendaries, you really only need about half of them. Tomorrow I'll sort through the rest of the goodies.
