Yesterday, I tried to win with a dragon deck, but it was a struggle. This Altered Fang deck is problematic, but since I don't have any Dragon decks, I'm making do with what I have – Fort, Sash, and Bahamut. It's somewhat similar in how it works to the Roach, but it's much more cumbersome.
1. The Fang needs both Wildfang and Altered Fate. The Roach only needs itself. Sometimes, just one Roach is enough, like yesterday when I was moving it back and forth.
2. The Goblin can bring the Fang and the Roach, but it can't bring the Altered Fate, even if it wants to.
3. Having two Roaches in your hand is great. Having two Fates in your hand is... not so great.
4. A combo of two Fangs and a Fate on turn 6 will deal 10 damage, I think. On turn 8, if you're lucky, it can deal significantly more, plus you might be able to get a third Fang or, with some luck, a second Fate, but you might not even make it to turn 8. The Roach on turn 6 can deal up to 14 damage (one) or 15 (two), assuming there are no Wards and no Evolution on the Roach. And it's definitely easier to survive until turn 6.
In general, the advantage of the Altered Fang is that it attacks through Wards, which are one of the best counters for the Roach, if not the only one. Otherwise, the deck is clearly weaker, although it's interesting. Maybe I'll get the hang of it, but a lot depends on luck, since the Fates can't be controlled.
