Can it protect against recruitment? Against a date with a maniac from other visitors? How does it work with isolating a male character and infection? Does it heal the infection or just temporarily suspend its effect?

It protects against recruitment and infection if they occur on the same night. If the player was already infected or recruited, it has no effect on them. It cancels the isolation of male characters. It prevents the maniac from dating his target, but it doesn't affect those who are third-wheeling during the date.
