is the same as the first action, but provides more information. Or, more likely, I misunderstood the answer.

It's very good that this question arose. There are 2 nuances here:

1) Mages may have an ignore healing effect when attacking, which means that only defense can help the victim.
2) If Cornelius comes out specifically to defend, and a psychic attack is used on Nancy, then her special ability will activate, and the defense will be redirected. But if Cornelius uses the second action, this will not happen.
