Ah, yes. Stalking/redirection/hypnosis only affects the target's first action. For example, if a maniac kills and investigates simultaneously, only the kill will be redirected. If someone comparing stats is redirected, only target number 1 changes. If someone comparing stats is stalked, the result of the stalking applies to target number 1 (or target number 2, if the person is comparing themselves).
