yes, and Revan, what makes you think that the Mafia was playing as a Werewolf, and what don't you like about his role? He's a Human now, so he would have left a clue.

On the first night, the Mafia has no reason to steal votes, because in the first few days, the town is impotent anyway (and maybe not only in the first few days). Most likely, they used redirection, block, and kill (I don't see any reason to delay the kill; the town gets extra information for free). The kill didn't go through.
And checking won't give you anything at all. Instead of, for example, the same isolation, which can save someone from death, the House Spirit will go to Flower. Even if he doesn't run into various redirections/exchanges/blocks along the way and can find something out, the rest will still remain in the dark.
