Regarding the saves - the Incas left just when I was recording how to defeat the vampires. So, they are overpowered there.
About the prayer - I need it because it gives + to attack, defense, and +20% initiative for a couple of turns (especially good if there is no mana to cast a blessing...).
About the level 1 units - if you didn't notice, all of them were dying when I was clearing out the neutrals (especially in the Castle with the priests) - liches and banshees.
I tried to defeat higher-level vampires with level 1 units - it's the same thing, only I saved 1-2 warriors.
Regarding the troops (and the infantry too) - my dear, where am I going to get more of them? I have no money, and the resources are scarce. If I take the time to clear them out, I'll lose the entire map because of the 4-week time limit. This is a hopeless situation.
