Ice and Fire

Guys, what difficulty level are you playing on? It looks like you're making good progress :) I'm on Veteran, 4 months and 2 weeks in. Before that, I quickly completed the Dungeon campaign. Luckily, the enemies kept rushing in and getting themselves into trouble. Plus, this was already my third playthrough, so I was familiar with everything. I emerged on the surface, quickly gathered an army in 2-3 weeks. The tavern shows that only the Mountains faction, i.e., Wolfenstein, is stronger than me. I took the first Castle. I'm heading for the second... And then there's that jerk... I mean, that scoundrel, Hangwul, with a high threat level. In battle, it turned out that he has decent initiative, a lot of mana, and Blind. Basically, after his Blind, all my units just stand there and wait to be beaten. I replayed it 4 times. I went back home for reinforcements. Upon returning, he still had more troops, and the high threat level remained. It's not even about his threat level, but the fact that he constantly casts Blind very quickly. And now, do I have to replay on Warrior? :) I mean, is it also impossible to win on Veteran? Or has anyone managed to do it?

Not necessarily. Try the following tactic:

Retreat to the nearest Dwarf town (there will be an additional stack of warriors + strong walls). Ideally, the hero should have at least Blind in his spellbook and a more or less decent army.
Hangwul should pursue if he's stronger. As soon as the battle in the Castle begins, immediately try to destroy the enemy catapult and charm or blind the Jarls (Earls). They are the only flying units. If they still fly over the wall, they can be taken down by all the other units (especially summoned ones) immediately. Then, cast Devil's Chain and other spells on the rest (there are battle logs available). Use Mass Slow to disable the archers.

There's a more cunning option - try to grab the last Dwarf artifact from Thor Hall (if you have the other 3) and get Subdue from Nefarius (near the Inferno Castle). Then, proceed as in the first point. The battle will be much easier.

The main thing is to destroy the catapult, prevent it from making holes in the wall, or close the holes somehow. And then patiently destroy his troops.

If the hero isn't ready, doesn't have certain skills/spells, don't rush to capture the garrison in front of Hangwul's Castle. In the Dragon Hoard, you might find Blind or Berserk if you go there again. I hope this helps. )
