Usually, if you try to play an animation on a creature that doesn't have it, the creature will stand in a statue-like pose without displaying any messages. I think this message is related to some high-level mod. The animation link exists, but the animation itself is missing. I've encountered this type of message when playing an animated cutscene. Which rider are you referring to?
