Since when does creating tasks require expanding the editor?

For Juss456. I couldn't find where it's described how to create tasks. I don't have "Map properties tree" in the View menu, only "Map properties".

In the map properties tree, see the objectives tab. By the way, all of this is in the manual in Editor Documentation\Editor Theory. Everything is described in great detail there.
