I used to encounter this error frequently in games, but it only happened on Windows XP. I'm not sure if it's related... As far as I understand, the meteor shower works fine, so why are there problems with Armageddon? Maybe there are too many effects in one place, and the memory is overflowing? But in some places, there are significantly more of them. Or maybe some files in the game's resources are corrupted or something else. We need to ask knowledgeable people if such problems can be solved by starting a new map; it seems like no one else has encountered this before.

The second addition – in Utopia, you also get the Phantom Summon spell. Regarding luck and leadership... Luck is essential for Warlocks. You can't do without it. Leadership also seems preferable to magic. In the previous map, I posted what I think is the ideal development model for a Warlock. Speed aura + teleport + 2 necromancer artifacts + decent luck = success!
