The map was created as a single-player map, but I would like to try it out in multiplayer. Is it possible to change these initial map settings? If not, is it possible to copy all the map content into a new, multiplayer map?

create a copy of the map and try this: open the map with an archiver, then click on the Maps folder, and you will see another folder - SingleMissions. You need to rename it to Multiplayer. The map will then be available in multiplayer.
