I have a suggestion for modifying Haffad's special ability: remove the effect that kills 12% of enemy creatures and compensate with an effect that reduces the health of the enemy army.
What's the point of this special ability, though? A special ability should be designed so that its effectiveness depends on the player's actions – that is, the player needs to be able to properly utilize it (the hero's bonus) to gain some advantages. If the player is incompetent, then the special ability should be useless. But here, a portion of the army is mindlessly destroyed, and the opponent can't even benefit from it, no matter how well they play:confused:

Yes, I would like to replace it. Because it turns out to be an extremely easy-to-implement cheat.

It is impossible to give a negative percentage to health; something else is needed. At least, make the percentage of infected creatures dependent on the level.

The situation is approximately the same with Donsella.
Regarding level-based scaling, here's something to consider. I wouldn't want to nerf a specific unit too much, as many people like it. Is 1% per 2 levels a good balance?

There are many reasons to like it... We could create a hero with an even more powerful special ability – people would love that too. In general, Leto's "Poisoner" specialization has some similarities, but at least its effectiveness depends on the hero's level, and the soldiers don't die instantly, but with a delay (meaning you can have time to remove the plague) – for this kind of idea (an idea for a pre-battle phase aimed at partially weakening the army), Leto's implementation is the most appropriate. But by the way, there's something I'd like to discuss – I really don't like the fact that the specializations of some heroes are completely useless when fighting certain factions. Let's consider Dyra and Leto – if our enemy is undead, their special abilities are completely ineffective. Maybe we can come up with something for that? I would like every hero to be able to prove themselves in some way in any situation (Dyra and Leto can only prove themselves when fighting undead by clearing out neutral creatures – that's a shame)

The issue lies in the hero's skills, as I mentioned from the beginning when creating him. He doesn't have strong skills specifically for a single main hero. Also, he gains less experience after battles compared to other heroes. If you give the Necromancer the "Letos" skill, he will be stronger than "Hafad."
And the observation about "Donsella" is correct; it also needs to be adjusted.
But by the way, there's something I'd like to discuss – I really don't like the fact that the specializations of some heroes are completely useless when fighting certain factions. Let's consider Dyraell and Letos – if our enemy is undead, the specialization doesn't help at all. Maybe we can come up with something for that? I'd like every hero to be able to prove themselves in some way in any situation (Dyraell and Letos can only prove themselves when playing against undead by clearing out neutral creatures – that's a shame).
I'm against it. Let's then give Navigation another bonus, catapults in the field without a castle, and so on...

Abilities are one thing, and specializations are quite another. We're discussing specializations, not a skill tree.

The core idea remains the same: make everything useful in every aspect. To illustrate, consider chess: a bishop moving on white squares cannot capture any other piece or even another bishop on black squares. This doesn't mean that the bishop should be given the ability to jump to any color square. The example is, of course, a bit far-fetched, but it serves the purpose.
A new version of the NHF 0.85 mod has been released
Hero Revision: Hero skills and abilities have been adjusted to match their descriptions: Alastor, Grok, Agrael, Arantir, Baltasar, Galtron, Constantine, Kyorl, Vinrael, Ilfina, Unutel, Olhar, Narhiz, Zehir, Gotai, Mahur, Oirkhin, Orbag.
Changes: 1) Veres' special ability has been changed: [After winning a battle where various living horses, unicorns, and riders were destroyed, the hero receives Death Knights. The bonus depends on the number of required creatures killed [1% + 1% for each 3 levels, but no less than one]]. 2) Hafad's special ability has been changed: [When attacking an enemy, the hero destroys part of their army (0.5% for each hero level, rounded up), infecting them with a severe disease. The damage is dealt simultaneously as earth element damage. The number of creatures killed depends on the element modifiers and the size of the enemy army]. 3) Donsella's special ability has been changed: [Part of some enemy spellcasters switch to the hero's side as mummies [1% of creatures for each hero level, rounded up]].
Fixes: 1) Kyorl now learns light spells correctly according to guild levels (Thanks to RedHeavenHero for finding this). 2) Sergio now receives bonus experience after battles (Thanks to RedHeavenHero for finding this). 3) Nicholas now definitely has a 2% discount on recruitment per level (Thanks to RedHeavenHero for finding this). - not fixed =(
Other: 1) Underground descent tiles have been reverted to their original state in the game (Thanks to RedHeavenHero for finding the bug with the Global Skill Check).

Isn't it time to hold a championship or something similar for NHF?
A sure way to test a mod) By the way, I have a problem - when installing the mod, I can't launch the game - it says that my game is supposedly not licensed, but that's a lie - I have a licensed copy from a disc
Added 1 minute ago although I don't have the disc itself - I created a disc image from the disc, etc.
