"We built and built, and finally we built it."

In connection with the release of simultaneous turn gameplay, a tournament is announced to introduce players to this technology and test the software.

1. The tournament is unofficial.

Game version: HotA + HDmod + HWrulez (latest versions everywhere).

2. Templates:
4 templates will be determined by coin flip. A template is generated once before bidding because there is a mirror in the pool. If Mirror appears, then a regular bid takes place.

00 - Jebus
01 - Mini-Nostalgia
10 - Nostalgia
11 - h3dm1

The choice of templates is due to their non-contact nature, which allows simultaneous turns to fully demonstrate themselves.

The Nostalgia template uses the HotA version – [HotA]Nostalgia; compared to the SoD version, the road balance has been adjusted – both players always have roads to all their camps, as well as a road between players through ГО. This is also new technology that needs testing.

3. /topic/11418/ link to the rules for HotA. There are differences from SoD, so if you don't know them, it is advisable to read them.

You can read a mini manual on Simultaneous Turn here:
https://sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd/rus/description/hd_plus/sim-turn

Simultaneous turn time and timer for templates:
7 days for Jebus Cross 25:00 + 10:00 + 1.30
14 days for Mini-Nostalgia 20:00 + 08.30 + 1.15
14 days for Nostalgia 23:00 + 09:00 + 1.15
10 days for h3dm1 (on medium roads) 25+10+1.30

I added a little more time to the timer because it is very difficult to immediately get used to simultaneous turns.

In simultaneous turn gameplay, a "soft landing" is implemented – interrupting the simultaneous turn when players come into contact by replaying the last move of the blue player. Therefore, even if you meet earlier than the specified time, nothing terrible will happen. But it's better without it, as this interferes with the gameplay, which is why there is a limit on the duration of the simultaneous turn.

4. Castle selection - randomizer + bidding. A random pair of castles is generated, after which players begin to bid for the right to choose – either the castle or the color. The winner transfers the amount of their last bid to the opponent before the start of the game. For example:

Inferno vs Tavern was generated.
Vasya:
100
Petya:
200
Vasya:
300
Petya:
400
Vasya:
pass
Petya:
I take red color
Vasya:
I take Inferno

As a result, Petya plays red Tavern with 9600 starting gold, and Vasya plays blue Inferno with 10400 starting gold.

Either player can request a re-generation of the castles once by paying 500 gold for it. If, after re-generation, at least one of the castles matches those that were before re-generation, then you can request another re-generation for free.

By mutual agreement, you can choose castles in other ways - draw, double bidding (for the castle and for the color separately), all random, etc.

Roads – fast for Jebus Cross and Nostalgia, medium for Mini-Nostalgia.

5. Rush is allowed.

The time for each match is 2-3 weeks, depending on the number of participants, but also so as not to drag out the tournament too much.

With mutual consent, you can write reports without using an automatic method.

Tournament format: floating double elimination.

All games in the upper and lower brackets, including finals, will be bo1.
The grand final will be bo3, with a score of 1-0 in favor of the player from the upper bracket.

You can take 3 days in total for restarts.

Restarts according to this scheme:
- During the first turn, any player can immediately take a restart 111.
- If neither player takes a restart during the first turn, then before the start of day 2, when no one has yet made a move, red must write "111" or "I don't take a restart" in ICQ. After that, if red does not take a restart, blue must also write "111" or "I don't take a restart".
- If one of the players makes the second move, then he can no longer take a restart. You can see that your opponent has made a move by seeing that the timer starts displaying for him (in the latest versions of HD - even if the player himself has not yet made a move).

maybe he got lucky with the hero - maybe he didn't play that well, made some mistakes, but he got AA up quickly and they won the game.

Oh, this OX!!

It's not easy to play as X without any planning!
As a result, I wandered around the map almost randomly for 2 weeks.
And what finished me off was the timer for leveling up 3 heroes at once (in the end, Damacon was level 20, Miriam was 16, and Solmyr was 15).
And besides the mistake in the first fort fight - I didn't check the mana and didn't equip the Orb, I hypnotized Arch, who wasn't going first, and he was healed.
There was another key mistake on the dying timer: in the dungeon village, where I was supposed to double the mana and take the Utopia, someone was already there, and the double mana went to the last idiot.
And on that turn, Damacon not only realized what happened, but also on the next turn, because of the extra teleport, he didn't have enough ~20 mana to teleport away from the taken Utopia, so the other heroes could continue farming - effectively lost 2 days! :(

But I finally assembled AotD with the Orb and upgraded the Titans, but, as usual, I didn't have enough time to buy a weapon and a cart for Damacon with artillery, shooting, and artifacts for him, and to set up in a village without revealing myself.
Solmyr was left with no combat heroes, but with the Orb, and of course, on that turn, they paid me a visit.
With the attack that Solmyr had, Nelka was invulnerable! :smile35:
gg, thanks for the game

It was tough at the start, but in the end, I spent 6 candies on the respawn point, but by level 122, I only had 4. I cleared the Devil's Lair at level 117. The lair's defense was quite strong: 60 gold golems. I attacked with 12 cyclops and 1 devil, plus 2 ifrits. At level 123, I entered the treasure room with this army: 5 devils, a couple of ifrits, 28 cyclops, 3 angels, and a devourer. 15 gold and 15 chaos diamonds. I managed to break through, but it wasn't easy – they ate everything except the 28 cyclops. I went deeper into the treasure room and won. My opponent had a huge advantage in every aspect. Well played. Thanks, and good luck in the tournament.

Question for the organizers. Is it normal to have a total of 113 restarts on the h3dm1 map? This isn't mentioned in the rules. I was surprised to see my opponent had 112.

I request that the player Shpillinger be awarded a technical defeat in the match, for the reasons described below.
We agreed to play a mirror match and started the game. I bought the red color and a hero. There was a watering hole near the castle, and I spent the night on turn 111 with one of my heroes on this object. On turn 112, I remembered that something was written on the forum about this object and its bug. Since nothing was described in the header of the tournament topic, I decided to ask my opponent to speed up the process whether it was possible to visit this object. The answer was clear - no, he said that he (the opponent) had not visited it. As a normal person, I believed the opponent and wrote to him, okay, I visited it, so I'll take a restart on turn 112 (in accordance with the tournament rules, I was also surprised that three restarts were prescribed even for a mirror match, but the rules are the rules). To which the opponent replies to me, after I had already left the game and wrote that I would take turn 112, that maybe only the blue player is not allowed to visit it, well, okay, I started looking myself and saw a strange rule about this watering hole, where you need to reload the game, etc. Well, it's not very important to me, I write, let's continue, I have 1 restart, you have 3. To which the opponent tells me that in a mirror match, there is only 1 restart. I inform him that the rules state that there are 3 restarts and that I took my turn 112 only because he reported that it was impossible to visit this object, and he was confident about it. Of course, in order not to receive a technical loss, I took turn 112. Then, the ramblings of a mentally ill person begin, that he could have written to me about the rules, anything at all, that the mirror match is played with only 1 restart, and even if the rules say otherwise, it is not so, etc.
The opponent refused to continue the match without giving any reasons.

Well, it doesn't really matter to me; let's continue. I have 1 restart left, and you have 3. My opponent then tells me that on the mirror map, there is only 1 restart allowed. I inform him that the rules state there are 3 restarts, and that I took my 112 [presumably a score or level] only because he said he wouldn't be able to visit that location, and he was quite certain about it.

Timur mentioned in the first post of this tournament thread that there is a link to the HotA game rules. There is point 10 which describes the rules for the mirror map, specifically stating that subjective restarts on the mirror map template are canceled (i.e., there isn't even a 111).

Question for the organizers. Is it normal to have a total of 113 restarts on the h3dm1 map? This is not stated in the rules. It was a surprise for me to see 112 from my opponent.
The rules do not specify anything about the map, so the total number of restarts is 3 days, as stated in the first post.

THE (15:46:39 19/03/2016)
listen, I just remembered, there was something written about watering holes

THE (15:46:43 19/03/2016)
can't they be visited?

shpil (15:46:48 19/03/2016)
no

shpil (15:46:51 19/03/2016)
I didn't visit

THE (15:47:01 19/03/2016)
hmm...

THE (15:47:07 19/03/2016)
okay, 112

THE (15:47:08 19/03/2016)
I visited

shpil (15:47:21 19/03/2016)
although it seems like it's only for blue

shpil (15:47:33 19/03/2016)
I don't know, need to check

shpil (15:48:06 19/03/2016)
you didn't have 112

THE (15:48:28 19/03/2016)
You can take 3 days of restarts in total.

shpil (15:48:36 19/03/2016)
but not on the mirror match

THE (15:48:44 19/03/2016)
nothing is said about the mirror match

And it continued
ravings of a madman
Judging by the streams, The seems to like presenting black as white. The situation in the game with Hellight is an example of this. The opponent reached the final in a mirror match tournament, where the total number of restarts was 111. He probably also knew about the watering holes. And then the person could just pretend to be clueless and simply get away with it, claiming that the rules for restarts in the mirror match tournament were simply forgotten. He first wrote in ICQ with a question about the rules (which is already incorrect). After receiving an answer, he writes that he is taking 112, because he visited the watering hole. I don't rule out that he wanted to use a fake restart for another reason (any reason). It's a fun tournament. I don't want to play with him.

Tournament rules always seem to take precedence over basic rules. Although, perhaps this should be clarified.

I've played with David and Джавдет, with one rest per 111, and there were no issues. It's become a standard practice for mirror matches. We also play series matches (including with Zhenya). In my opinion, if the tournament rules don't explicitly state otherwise, mirror matches should follow the 1 rest per 111 rule, rather than the 113 rule used for other map templates, as that's how everyone has been playing for a long time.

I played with David and Джавдет with 1 restart for 111, no questions arose; it seems to have become the norm for mirror matches. We also play series like this (including playing with Zhenya). In my opinion, if the tournament rules don't clearly state otherwise, then for mirror matches, rule 113 doesn't apply (as it does for other templates), but rather 1 per 111, because everyone has been playing like that for a long time.
But in this tournament, the number of restarts is clearly stated. I based my actions on that.
Based on The’s streams, it seemed as though he likes to present black as white. The situation in the game against Hellight is an example of this.
His opponent reached the final in a mirror match tournament where the total number of restarts was 111. He most likely knew about the watering holes too. And at that point, he could simply pretend to be clueless and just back out by saying that the number of restarts for mirror matches wasn't specified in the tournament. First, he wrote in ICQ asking about the rules (which was already incorrect). After receiving an answer, he said he would take 112 because he visited the watering hole.
I don't exclude the possibility that he wanted to fake a restart for another reason (any reason).
It's a fun tournament. I don't want to play with him.
Don't make up your own assumptions. Stick to the facts. The tournament states that there are 113 restarts. Because of your deception, I lost 112, and I didn't even say anything to you about it; I suggested continuing the game. Instead of clarifying what was written in the tournament header or asking the organizer about it if you had doubts, you wished me luck, emphasized your deceit, and claimed that I was "stupid" for believing you on my word and refusing to continue playing. In a situation where you were completely wrong, you still managed to accuse me of all sorts of sins – this is truly a despicable position.

According to the game logic, on map 111, a restart is required. I can’t understand why it needs three days of restarts. Please correct this in the rules and move on!

The rules for HotA state 0 restarts, while the tournament regulations state 3 restarts without specifying which template. So, what is a poor peasant to do? Formally (since the situation has already played out and does not contradict the tournament regulations), I believe Timur should be given 112 and the game on the mirror map should continue with 113 restarts.
