Which skills are you willing to take at level 2 instead of Expert Armor?
earth, air, tactics, logistics, offense - basically a standard set. Also, wisdom, water, and intelligence to avoid ruining the tree. Everything else is garbage at this stage, IMHO.

Sanin, Leadership will definitely be better, as it will be useful in battles with neutrals, unlike resistance, which can simply be dispelled by a black spell on the frontline unit.
I agree, but by week 4, there is often a counter-argument even for leadership.

I agree. FireToSky
Sanin, Leadership is clearly better, as it will be useful in battles with neutrals, unlike resistance, which can simply be dispelled with a black spell on the frontline unit.
The difference is that leadership can be completely replaced with artifacts that provide morale, while the resistance skill stacks with artifacts that provide resistance. In general, if Tazaru is offered to choose between resistance and leadership on the third level, I would take resistance.
In the set of 7 papal skills, one slot is "extra," which is why Mephala's leadership and the possible weakness of Tazar at level 2 are not a problem. The difference in primary skill development between swamp creatures and rangers is small, so it's also not a significant argument. In a theoretical scenario with Pandora at level 111, I would choose Tazar because of the higher chance of getting a log and a lower chance of getting water. In practice, I would try to test both, as anything can happen; in the last two parties, Tazar ran without a log until level 20.

The difference is that leadership can be completely replaced with artifacts that boost morale, while the resistance skill stacks with artifacts that provide resistance. So, in general, if the same Taz'har is offered a choice between resistance and leadership on the third level, I would choose resistance.
I would choose leadership. Definitely. Morale boosts will help us preserve our army in some difficult battles. But with resistance, we might not even make it to the final battle. And artifacts that boost morale aren't found on every corner, and the army often consists of different types of troops.
In the composition of 7 papal skills, one slot is "extra," which is why Mephala's leadership and the possible subpar skill of Thazar at level 2 are not a problem. The difference in primary skill development between swamp creatures and rangers is small, so it's also not an argument. In a theoretical scenario with Pandora at level 111, my choice would be Thazar due to the higher chance of getting the "Log" skill and a lower chance of getting the "Water" skill. In practice, I would try to test both, as anything can happen; in the last two parties, Thazar ran without "Log" until level 20.
Mephala's leadership and the "possible subpar" skill, Keen Eye, are not the same thing. IMHO, I would take the 5k experience box with Mephala.
Leading with Mephala and having a "potentially useless" skill, Zorkost, are completely different things. In my opinion, I would choose Mephala for a box with 5k experience.
What is more likely: a "potentially useless" skill or a "potentially top-tier" skill? Just for fun, I checked the first level-up for Tazar (I won't bother with the second one, as it would take much more work).Javdet

So, at level 2, they offer: Logistics: 29/255 Earth: 7/255 Air: 1/255 (if air is offered, it means we already know everything about this tree. We can't refuse it, because it will lead to garbage later) Tactics: 17/255 Offense: 7/255
Total: 61/255 = 24%. That is, in every fourth case, we get a top-tier skill right away! In the remaining 76%, we reach level three, where we can get either garbage or a top-tier skill. In addition, several skills from the "so-so" category appear there: Pathfinding, Ranged Attack, Leadership, Wisdom, Water, Intelligence, Resistance.
Completely useless: Scouting (although it might be useful for some), Diplomacy (unless it's Anarchy), Navigation, Mysticism, Eagle Eye, Ballistics, Literacy, Economics, Luck, Artillery (definitely garbage for Tazar), Training, Magic, First Aid. For fun, you can check the probability of a combination of these skills, but honestly, it would take at least an hour.
Wow, the scouting skill is terrible. This skill, which is a type of resistance, can actually win you the game.
I found it amusing when I was watching a tournament; someone said that the scouting skill needs to be further enhanced, even though it's already at 1/3/5 – are they completely crazy? :D
Сейчас балуюсь этим https://vcmi.eu/download/ За то что нейтралы не бегают за единичкой, для меня это уже стоит того
It's strange that you rate the Scout so low. I would definitely prefer him over the Resistor, especially in the early levels. So, it's a skill that's "good enough"!
I'll take a look at Kreg later and see how he performs at level 1. As for Gunnar, he's definitely a top-tier choice for leveling up, in my opinion.

It's strange that you rate Scout so low. I would definitely prefer him over Resist at early levels. So, it's a skill that's just "okay."
Some skills are very situational. For example, if Tazar is going for the Tower, then Ranged Attack becomes a very good skill. And if we're playing in a 200-month game, then Scouting isn't useful at all, etc.

Dirty, how did you check the trees? Did you change the bait in the save?
And let's teach everyone how to cheat on the forum right now? :D
