Moreover, if you're hosting a championship on SoD, you'll have to remove all XL+U templates from the list, as they can lead to unacceptable time delays (your matches with Eddie and Scorpion are examples of this). And on L-sized maps, control isn't as crucial.

We used to play differently. First, there's the chess timer, and then you can set a final battle, say, at 227, or even start on an impossible patch. But removing XL maps is an overreach that will significantly affect the participation of strong players.
As harsh reality shows, the VT project is dead. You can throw tomatoes at me, but there is clear evidence of this, apart from my personal opinion: there is a slow outflow of players from VT. Almost none of the innovations announced at the project's launch have been implemented. As a regular participant in tournaments, I can state that the only thing that keeps VT as the main tournament version is the presence of symmetrical maps (at the last CIS tournament, as far as I remember, it was the leader in the number of games played). And even here there is a problem: Ivor has long made a good built-in generator for symmetrical maps, and asm has not been able to integrate it into VT for 2 years; as a result, Cobra and I played a buggy generation with one secondary resource and either 12 or 16 sides in Odessa. You could say we were idiots, but the situation, for example, was repeated in a game between Bayazet and Valenok as part of a team tournament on heroeswt.
The conclusion is simple: I propose that for the Minsk 2014, in addition to games on symmetrical maps, we declare SoD with the XD mod as the base version. And we will all together ask the Bara team to go against their principles and slightly influence the gameplay: to make an optional ability to rebuild the Guildhall - in my opinion, this is the only critical drawback of SoD. In a recent game with Mizrael: I had a Town Portal right away in the tavern library, and he had 4 built Guildhalls and Sosso Pavliashvili.
Everything will be done by New Year's. There was a serious private conversation between me and Mee, during which it was decided: if "everything promised" is implemented and tested by New Year's, then CIS-2014 will be held on full-VT. If not, I will look for (of course, collegially - with the participation of many opinions) - "compromise options". Thank you for your attention.
KobRa_RRWe used to play like this somehow. Firstly, there is a chess-timer, then you can schedule the final battle, say for 227, or even start on an impossible patch. But removing HLs is overkill, which will significantly affect the presence of strong participantsWe used to sleep less, eat faster, were less interested in cultural programs, and also didn't break Dragon Utopia on the 2nd.
As the practice of CIS champs shows, 227 is a day and a half to two days at our normal pace. One or two such games in a tour and the schedule is completely broken. Therefore, if a final battle is to be set, it should be for 147. But in SoD on the 4th week, the game often only enters the height of maneuvering, while a strict deadline for the finale stimulates the opposite: turtling in a corner and waiting for the deadline.
A chess timer is good, but if you shorten it, cries start from the other side - "we don't have enough time, make a human timer". And with the classic 4000+500 even in BT games end up too long in real time over a month; in SoD with a similar setup, automatically add +1 week to the duration.
Therefore, cramming SoD-XLs into the established format is violence either against the participants' brains or the organizers' brains or the gameplay. In my opinion, it's better to play something more tempo-oriented, freeing up more time for other activities. Especially since besides XL+U there isn't just SM - we also have Jeb, Diamond, Mini-Nosta, Anarchy; on these templates, it's problematic to drag the game longer than 1 month.
And we also have Alex, Cobra and other lovers of walking in the fresh air, spending an hour or two over delicious and healthy food, watching football, and in their free time from the aforementioned activities, DDing across the map and collecting skeleton-demons for a week, two, or three.

Could you provide a complete list of "everything promised"? On my side, there is a request for:
1) Simultaneous turn-based gameplay. This is primarily needed for the championship - in online games, people are already used to doing household chores while their opponent is taking their turn, but at the championship, every hour or two saved is worth its weight in gold.
2) Balancing adjustments in accordance with the discussions from 2 years ago.
Actually, if it's possible to integrate the GM rebuild into SOD (which I highly doubt), then you can confidently play competitive matches on it. Because the biggest drawback in SOD (subjectively, of course) is the problem with obtaining control.
However, such a patch would ruin Warlord for everyone who isn't interested in playing with experience and mirror matches. And even the freaks in the chat won't save it.
Gentlemen, you will soon have to either stop criticizing or abandon the heroes again! :D This is the verdict, and seriously, your attempts to keep "full-WT" with all its global fixes, which many players consider unnecessary, are more like the desperate struggles of drowning people. In the WT chat, people either come in who have been there for several years, or just to "toss a coin." As I understand it, the main criterion behind which you hide your desire to play the established WT is the time saved per game. Currently, the HD mod allows you to play within the same time frame as WT (with rare exceptions, if we don't take WT "experience" into account). p.s. of course, this is just my opinion, but I think many people will agree with me. You are fixated on something you are simply used to, and new members of the Heroes community who want to participate in such events (in this case, I speak for myself) will be very disappointed that their chances of competing in the tournament will be significantly reduced due to a lack of knowledge of many nuances or simply a lack of experience in WT games.
Actually, if it's possible to implement a Guild Master rework into SoD (which I highly doubt), then you can confidently play the championship on it. Because the biggest drawback in SoD (subjectively, of course) is the problem with obtaining control. However, such a patch would ruin Warlord Tactics for everyone who isn't interested in playing with experience and mirror matches. And even the freaks in the chat won't save it.
You're getting carried away. Many games are played without experience and not in mirror matches, and it's still Warlord Tactics. For me, Warlord Tactics gameplay is mainly associated with 3 stacks, no morale, a wider selection of skills when leveling up, and a different castle balance. And yes, also with the Guild Master rework and one-sided factions. And experience and mirror matches are just nice optional features.
Hota has also gone down the same path, regardless of Warlord Tactics (except for morale), which is why I believe that this is still common sense, and not someone's whim. HellLight
Guys, you'll have to stop criticizing or abandon Heroes soon anyway! This is the verdict, and seriously, your attempts to keep "full Warlord Tactics" with all its global fixes, which many players consider unnecessary, are more like the desperate gasps of drowning people. In the Warlord Tactics chat, people either come in who have been there for several years, or just to "throw in their two cents." As far as I understand, the main criterion behind your desire to play the familiar Warlord Tactics is the time saved per game. Currently, the HD mod allows you to play in exactly the same time frame as Warlord Tactics (with rare exceptions, if you don't take Warlord Tactics "experience" into account). p.s. of course, this is just my opinion, but I think many people will agree with me. You are fixated on what you are simply used to, and new members of the Heroes community who want to participate in such events (in this case, I speak for myself) will be very disappointed that their chances of competing in the tournament will be significantly reduced due to a lack of knowledge of many nuances or simply a lack of Warlord Tactics gaming experience.
Years of experience show that the main thing preventing new members of the Heroes community from participating in the championship is not the version of Heroes, but rather their lack of dedication.
And it's funny to hear about the "familiar Warlord Tactics" - almost all top Warlord Tactics players play SoD at the same level. This is called "general Heroes skill."

Kostya, let him get his points, but there's no better comment than this: "Talking is cheap." All these promises were made by asm, both in Yekaterinburg and in Odessa. Wicc
Added 50 minutes ago This will not be the SoD that we all love so much
Such significant changes are normal for gameplay mods (WT, Hota), but do not correspond to the ideology of HDmod.
Moreover, if a championship is held on SoD, then all XL+U templates will have to be removed from the list, as they can lead to unacceptable delays in time (your games with Eddie and Scorpio are an example of this). And on L-maps, control is not so important.
2Wicc. Regarding the restructuring of the GM, Yur, it's not just about control; the following may be needed: Meteor, Chain Lightning, Berserk, Resurrection, Prayer, Frenzy, Armageddon - but they will give Water Walking, Fire Shield, Assassin, Sadness, etc.
We are traveling a thousand kilometers (some even more) not to come and admire Van Cunningham, but to have a good time with good company in the end. If Baratortch doesn't agree, we can follow the example of the Poles and remove the most controversial artifacts, spells, and objects using text editors.
P.S. I wouldn't talk too loudly about removing XL+U templates, or your fellow St. Petersburg residents might throw you out of the train on the way :).

And I'll take Indru with me; he'll be thrown out earlier.

What if we create an add-on for the HD mod with the features needed for tournaments? Similar to HW rulez or M200 patches by WiZarDX_576. This is what HD+ was designed for, right...?

First, these features need to be created. And if there’s going to be a guild overhaul anyway, then it would also be good to include a fix for one-way portals as part of the package. Preferably, this should be done by adding new types of two-way teleporters to the game, rather than changing how one-way portals work.
