SECOND OFFLINE HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC I TOURNAMENT "NEIGHBORS"

TOURNAMENT RULES

1. To participate in the second offline tournament for Heroes of Might and Magic I "NEIGHBORS", you must register on our website www.heroesworld.ru, as well as submit an application in this thread.

P.S. This tournament is held as part of the general same-named Cunningham tournament, therefore all information, as well as its progress and results, will be displayed in that section.
Турнир имени Jov Van Caneghem-а на HeroesWorld

Note: final tournament results will also be available in the offline tournaments section for Heroes of Might and Magic I.

2. The tournament is played on the Russian version of Heroes of Might and Magic I from Buka. The save will be generated on Russian version 1.1.

3. The goal of the game is to defeat the enemy.
The submitted save must contain the tournament number (2), the participant's number in the application table, the abbreviation (C - NEIGHBORS) and the player's Nick.

Example:

2_1_C_VDV_forever.GM1
2_2_C_AlexeyPank.GM1

4. The result will be evaluated, first and foremost, by the minimum time.
If several players have an equal walkthrough time, the best will be determined by the sum of primary skills (attack, defense, magic, knowledge) INCLUDING EQUIPPED ARTIFACTS; if a favorite is still not determined, then by the amount of mercury.

5. Along with the submitted save, it is mandatory to provide a description of the final step (battle with a hero, battle for a castle, capturing an artifact, victory over the last monster) after which victory occurs, or the walkthrough of the scenario.

6. The submitted save must have only one conquering hero who performs the final action (others should simply be dismissed).

7. It is forbidden: to buy back your dismissed heroes on the same day (i.e., using the "dismissal-buyback" trick);
it is also forbidden to buy heroes who died in battle (not to be confused with those who fled)!

8. It is forbidden: to move a bought-back hero who fled/paid off in battle on the day they fled/paid off. Buying such a hero is allowed, but they can only be moved the following day;

9.It is forbidden: To dig up the Grail without fully uncovering the puzzle map.

10. It is forbidden: to use cheating programs, codes, as well as additional software that can change the game structure.

11. Send the save to the email address VDV_forever@BK.RU

12. In case of suspicion of cheating or other malicious intent during the map walkthrough, a save must be made every game day.
In such a case (detection of cheating), the player will be required to send additional saves and provide a description of the walkthrough to the tournament organizer to determine whether the play was unfair or honest.
The result of a player who played dishonestly will be voided, and their further participation in tournaments will be impossible. This will also reflect poorly on their reputation.

13. Discussion of the tournament during its progress is FORBIDDEN!!!
(Players who violate this rule automatically exclude themselves from playing the tournament; their results will not be counted and will be annulled).

14. The tournament starts on February 1 and lasts until February 28 (inclusive!). Results will be announced on March 3, 2007.

15. After receiving your save, you will see in the application table that:

save accepted - indicated by a bold Nick.
save counted - indicated by an italicized bold Nick.

This list may be expanded with new participants!
We invite everyone to take part in the tournament!

Saves will only be considered for players who are in this table, so submit your applications IN ADVANCE!!!

Everything about the starting save

Starting save
from 01.02.07 download
save:
map from which the save was generated:

1. Download the save.

2. The downloaded Save must be placed on your computer in the GAMES folder of the installed Heroes of Might and Magic I.

3. Load it and start playing at any time convenient for you, while remembering to make daily saves.

4. After reaching the final action (after which victory occurs), save again.

5. With the final save, describe this last step in detail (most likely a battle); then the results will be processed faster and there will be fewer suspicions of cheating!!!

6. A full description of the tournament map is encouraged (optional). If such descriptions are provided, a contest for the best description will be held; 10 of them (the very best) will take their place of honor in the "Hall of Fame" section!

7. Send this save to the specified address (in the rules of this tournament).

8. Wait for the results.

P.S. I wish all tournament participants a great time playing and, most importantly, VICTORY!

P.S.S. If there are any additions or comments, please do not hesitate to speak up to minimize disagreements and shortcomings in the same-named process of the tournament.
Sincerely, VDV_forever

Could you replace "Tokha" in the table with "Grib_o.k."?

I mean, I've changed my name, so now I'm GriB_o.k.))

I hope you have a "bottomless" mailbox, because it turned out to be a little over 2MB (these are already archived, and without archiving they weigh almost 10MB).
... I can send you 10MB, or I can split it into parts so that the message weighs less than 2MB (then in two parts).
... Anyway, I'll send it to you, and then you let me know when you receive it!
-Okay?-

I think it's enough to send the final save file.
+ based on your words, I can approximately say how many save files you had and, accordingly,

I am very interested.

If it's not too much trouble, and if the maps are not from the standard set, please send them to my email VDV_forever@BK.RU, I would be very grateful!

Sincerely, VDV_forever

Zingel, I think Alex R wrote this in response to VDV's request to share maps from the first Heroes game. Although, such things should be written in private messages, and not cluttering the topic, but still, these are not saves... And it's worth reading what is written a little higher up...

P.S. Moderators (especially VDV) can delete all posts that are not on topic, as well as ours.

I think sending the final save is enough.
+ based on what you said, I can roughly tell how many saves you had and, accordingly, days :)

Mods! These 2 posts need to be corrected! IMHO.

Alan is absolutely right. These aren't my saves, but 118 new maps for HEROES 1
Let's consider this a small off-topic, although ...

Added after 5 minutes
And I really didn't progress quickly in terms of days, but on the other hand, I finished it on my second attempt and spent 3 hours of real time on this Tournaments (I think faster than many)
And real time is more important to me ...

Well, sorry about that! :)
By the way, regarding the maps:
The map for the first round would have been much more fun if there weren't any Genies!

I agree.
It wouldn't be as easy for the Knight, for example, to capture castles.
But the AI still doesn't know how to use them.

Did you remember to rename the mess in GriB_o.k.? Or do you need to submit a new application?

Yeah, that's not a problem. For example, I might have two saves for one day (start and end of turn) and about 30 saves for another (where there are many battles and logistics). IMHO, the prediction will be far from the truth :)

Agreed
It wouldn't be as sweet for the Knight without them, for example, when taking castles.
And the AI still doesn't know how to use them.
I don't entirely agree that it's much more fun, but that a few more days would have been spent—that, in my opinion, is indisputable :) Although everything is relative and everyone judges based on their own achieved result.

It's much more fun, I don't quite agree, but it definitely would have taken a few more days, in my opinion. Although, everything is relative, and everyone judges based on their own achieved result.

That's what I meant... more days - more fun (slaying computer heroes)

I sent the final save file. Great map, it was very interesting to play. There are indeed many different ways to complete it, and I spent a long time trying them out.

Actually, in my opinion, there are only two ways to complete it. There may be many variations in how they are executed, and I won't argue with that.

The following situation arose while playing through a map. My non-main, weak hero attacks the last computer-controlled hero, and then I win. But as a result of the battle, both heroes die – mine and the computer's. How should I proceed when submitting the final save file? Because if I dismiss all heroes (including my main hero) before the final battle, then after the battle, I won't have any heroes left. And it will turn out that in the hero's parameters, I will have zeros. How should I proceed? Can I, in this case, not dismiss my main hero? Because after the victory, only he will remain.
