+ based on what you say, I can roughly tell how many saves you had and, accordingly, days :)

Yeah, that's not a problem. For example, I might have two saves for one day (start and end of turn) and about 30 saves for another (where there are many battles and logistics). IMHO, the prediction will be far from the truth :)

It wouldn't be as sweet for the Knight without them, for example, when taking castles.
And the AI still doesn't know how to use them.

I don't entirely agree that it's much more fun, but that a few more days would have been spent—that, in my opinion, is indisputable :) Although everything is relative and everyone judges based on their own achieved result.
