Heroes 5 is a thing of the past. I didn't like it. I haven't played it.

I played Champions of Gelia just for fun – 55 days. And even then, I didn't get the City Portal in two guilds with libraries (at the tea shop), only in the third one.
Yes, the feeling isn't the same as it used to be when playing on a computer.
If you're really interested, I have saves for every turn; I can send them to you, and you can take a look.

Sorry, but I heard that "Return to Avenge" is considered the most difficult of the standard maps. I couldn't finish it a few years ago. Now, I'm almost certain I could, but back then, I didn't have enough experience. What makes this map special: large armies, to win you need to destroy several hundred ancient creatures, but first, you need to find them, visit several tents in different parts of the world, and all this with a time limit of 5 months! I gave up right when I realized I wouldn't make it in time. :(

As far as I remember, you don't need to visit all the tents there :D. Only a few, but you need flight and Dimension Door; first cast flight, then Dimension Door to the necropolis land, and with flight already active, fly to the monsters. And there is slow and ГГ :D

Lider1, by the way, I don't manually control battles, I don't even use autobattle, I choose quick battle because I'm too lazy to learn magic. It seems you specialize in Heroes 3? Tell me how you played Champions of Gelia in 55 days and achieved a 200% rating? Because that result seems questionable. You probably used bugs? Tell me more? Anyone can create saves.
It was all about teamwork when I first started playing Heroes of Might and Magic III ("The Restoration of Erathia," a friend gave me the disc). I remember losing about 15 times on the easiest difficulty, but then I started to get the hang of it and began beating the computer. I recall setting up archangels on the fourth week, but there wasn't even a prefecture there, and there were only 4 knights in the garrison. Then, Aiden showed up (oh, how I hated him!), and he took my castle. That's how it ended. :) Now, I think about it and still can't understand how I, as a newbie, managed to get archangels by the fourth week... nowadays, I don't always manage to get archangels within the first month, but back then... :smile04:

By the way, everyone says that "Fortress" is a weak faction and that it's impossible to play on the "Impossible" difficulty. But I actually played almost all scenarios on "Impossible" (200%) in Heroes 3 using "Fortress". I like that everything builds quickly there.
Then they say that you need to build troops first and only then build resource-generating structures, otherwise you won't be able to play on "Impossible". But I actually build resource-generating structures first and play "Impossible" without any problems. Who is right?

To build a treasury, you need an extra 3 days and 17,500 gold, but it will only pay for itself after 11 days. Of course, if there's a lot of free money on the map, you can afford to wait. But I haven't noticed extra money lying around on the road without protection, especially at the beginning of the game. Instead, I've noticed that sometimes guests might show up after a week, and it's not very dignified to receive them without an army. In general, build a treasury.
I would add that a lot depends on the map. If the map is large and enemies cannot come themselves due to border gates, or border guards (in cases where the author intended only you to be able to cross the border to visit the enemy), then it's possible to start with the capital. But if the map is ordinary, how will you fight enemies without an army, even if you have a billion gold? As for playing as Fortress, especially on impossible difficulty: I would like to see that! I was planning to write about why Fortress is one of my least favorite cities. There’s this topic; I don’t think it has been discussed yet… Here, I wrote it: /topic/8304/

I don't know what a treasury is. I meant that first you should build a magistrate and something else before it; I don't remember what it's called in Heroes 3 anymore. Because I've played all versions – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 – on impossible difficulty. And it doesn't cost 17,500, but rather about 2,500 + 5,000, and you can build a capitol later, after building troops. Sincerely.

I was going to write about why Castle is one of my least favorite cities. There's a topic about this; I don't think it has been discussed yet... Here, I wrote it: /topic/8304/
What's so difficult about Castle? Here's a simple strategy for playing as Castle. 1) To build initial and mid-tier units, you only need wood and stone, which are plentiful everywhere. You should launch 2-3 heroes at the beginning. You won't drag things out for long; by week 2 or 3, you attack an enemy castle, preferably two, doubling or tripling your income. Moreover, I try to attack specifically enemy "Castles" so that my troops get stronger. But the main principle is to start quickly; everything else can be taken from the opponent: Titan castles, for example. By the way, I easily defeated Titan armies. And without any magic. I don't even use autobattle; I choose the option to show "battle results." And if you control the battle manually, you can completely crush them into dust. Moreover, I don't use any bugs, cheats, or other nonsense like hero suicide or buying a new hero in Castle. Otherwise, it's not interesting to play; it's like boxing against a 5-year-old child. By the way, it's best to play the Champions of Gelanor scenario with Castle; I find it easier. Read online about Castle's capabilities. I learned about the abilities of upgraded bull gorgons, wyverns, and dragonflies only after playing as Castle on impossible difficulty. It's actually quite easy there. Usually, I go with half my army, not yet upgraded, to the enemy castle, defeat it, and only then do I see upgraded gorgons. Only later did I learn that basilisks slow down the army during movement. And that hydras are useless in the general army; they should be used individually. IMHO. You better tell me if you played the Heroes 5 scenario "Days of Flame" on "hero" level. That is really difficult. And here too, I started with money-making buildings. If you're interested, I can tell you how to play it. I completed it on recruit level in 21 days, and on hero level in 71 days. Sincerely.

If you're playing on impossible difficulty, it's not that simple. Building Wyverns requires a huge amount of wood and a lot of gold, which definitely slows down development by a couple of days. But in general, if you're playing a random map as Fortress and there are a lot of resources on the map, you can build everything up to Wyverns (and even them) and set up a Castle. But in general, you need to know how to play this faction, IMHO! :D

At the beginning of the game, you can attack even without Wyverns. It's difficult to play with any town. Is it easy to play with Titans? While you're upgrading Titans, others will conquer the whole world! :) And un-upgraded Titans are not worth much. IMHO Have you played the "Ready or Not" scenario? I played it on impossible difficulty in 22 days. True, the town had Green Dragons. So, I completed this scenario with a hero, even without a spellbook, I just forgot to buy it, i.e., I didn't use magic at all. And when building the town, I didn't reach either the trees or the dragons. I think there were only 4 initial units from the town in the army, or even 3. The main thing is speed and surprise. When I approached the enemy Fortresses, they didn't even expect me, but were collecting various minerals :) I took the town, strengthened myself, caught up with the enemy army, defeated it :), and went to another opponent. IMHO Sincerely.

I remembered. There, the language is sometimes Russian and sometimes English. It's hard to remember. I meant that you should first build a town hall and a city hall, and then a capitol, if possible. Although I always preferred to build a capitol first, then the highest-level troops. The point is, what's the use of a tower where dragons grow if there's nothing to buy them with? And with that money, you can recruit a bunch of slightly weaker troops that will crush any Titan and Dragon. IMHO Sincerely
Are Titans easy to play? While you're upgrading your Titans, others will conquer the whole world! :) Have you played the "Ready or Not" scenario?
The Tower is a whole different story; the castle is just too expensive, you'll struggle on Impossible difficulty! I haven't played that scenario, but I can play it if needed. ;)

Yes, I just asked. So we have something to discuss in general:) Impossible is exactly the level that is interesting to play. It translates to "impossible." But when you play it, it turns out how easy it was to play.:) But first, you need to think and try:)
Have you played Heroes 2? There's a scenario there called "Pyramid," which is difficult. You have to measure every move with a ruler:) And in Heroes 3, there's a scenario called "Titan's Winters" or something like that. On the 1st island, there are 3 Titan Castles and 1 Castle with hippos, on the 2nd island, there are 3 Dungeon Fortresses, and on the 3rd island, there are 4 Knight Fortresses? It's also a difficult scenario, and you play as Titans. I also played it on Impossible. But for some reason, the most difficult and interesting scenario is "Champions of Gel," I recommend playing it. IMHO

I played "Champions of Gelia" the other day, completed it in 200% in 5 months, playing as the Fortress with the Tazar. And I haven't played "Titan's Winters" in a long time; the last time I played, I had a huge army of Knights on a ship, and berserkers and titans saved me! And I rarely play the second Heroes game; I don't like it as much as the third one! :D

I recently played "Champions of Gel", completed it 200% in 5 months, playing as Fortress. As for "Winter Titans", I haven't played it in a long time; the last time I played, I had a huge army of Knights on the ship, and Berserks and Titans saved me! And I rarely play the second Heroes game; I don't like it as much as the third one! :D
I was playing "Fortress" and, suddenly and unexpectedly!!!:) I read about the unique ability of "Super Gorgons," "Deadly Gaze," which can instantly kill creatures of level 7, even Titans and Archangels. And I didn't even know that. :) Too bad. I should try it sometime. Have you ever used this Super Gorgon ability?
