Magic is extremely important. It's very difficult to play without it. And in a real battle, a mage would defeat a warrior, even if just by using resurrection and Armageddon.


To prevent the mage from causing trouble, you need to have a group of ogre lords and one wolf, and attack first. Then (if the mage doesn't have phoenixes or champions) - the first turn is ours, and... antimagic on the ogre lords. And the mage with his dragons can... (further text is unprintable).
Antimagic works well against blindness (of course, when not the only unit is blinded).

Actually, it doesn't act stupidly. The combination of blind-attack-blind is an excellent tactical move that allows you to defeat a hero without even giving them a chance to escape. This is practically the only move that the computer uses, but it uses it masterfully! I've had some very unpleasant experiences where the computer caught my main hero this way, and I couldn't even escape!!!
